Such a welcoming place to stay, there is a great atmosphere as all the staff are really friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Francesca who runs the hotel is supremely efficient - she not only printed us a copy of the local shuttle bus timetable to the Bus Station she even highlighted the best buses to connect to...

Amazing environment, extremely relaxing, warm and cozy atmosphere. Francesca is a super kind host, always attentive to details, guests' needs, and to guarantee all the guests are perfectly treated. Her family is the one of each guest. It is a pleasure being part of this reality.

Hotel des Glaciers is about 250 metres from the Dolonne cable car which takes you up to the main skiing area of Courmayeur. It is built in a traditional chalet style. I shared a triple room with my two daughters (one bed was a camp bed but was perfectly comfortable). The room was simply furnished and spotlessly clean - as...

We were a group of 5 who rented two rooms for a long weekend and three days of skiing. This hotel is a family run hotel and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all we wanted and as we were half-board we were well fed at breakfast and dinner. I would recommend to other skiers.

The first thing to say is that I feel bad writing this as the staff as ever so wonderful and attentive but I really do think the hotel could be improved with minimal real effort on their part. Rooms - very basic, clean. Expect scratchy, brown blankets, small bathroom with cheap toiletries Drying room - totally absent. Thankfully it wasnt...

The hotel is ok And it is conveniently located close to the new lift. Rooms are not special but fit the purpose, the restaurant is good. The issue is with the service and the owner behavior in particular. We arrived at 22:20 and we could not get any food beside some salami even though we paid for the dinner and...

Spent one night in Courmayeur midweek off peak season. Location is good, 10' walk to the pedestrian zona (if you're driving there's plenty of parking nearby anyway), rooms are comfy, clean and the bed too. It's a typycal mountain chalet, very cozy. Free parking (covered too). Very reasonable price. Would definitely stay there again! Staff at front desk local and...

Lovely very friendly and good value hotel with comfortable rooms and excellent continental breakfast. Half board available at an extra €20 per room - we tried it one night and it was lovely. Good location - 5 mins walk along charming old streets to Dolonne gondola up to Courmayeur ski area.

Hotel is very nice, room nice and big, staff(which are the owners husband and wife) also nice(although only she spoke English, husband only Italian). Located about 20 min walk from the town center. The problem was we had no hot water for 3 days of our stay! Well, there was hot water but just not in the hours we wanted...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The ancient Glareys’ house stands in a quaint part of the incomparable valley of Courmayeur, at the foot of the Mont Blanc range. During the years, the building has been transformed from a traditional house - where our ancestors used to spend a simple and hard life - into a comfortable hotel. Hotel Des Glaciers has been run by the Pennard family since 1985 and it still maintains a traditional Aosta Valley atmosphere giving you an insight into the daily life of a by-gone age, from the XVII century to our days.Hotel Des Glaciers (altitude: 1.224 metres a.s.l.) is 250 metres far from the new Dolonne cable car (5 minutes on foot), 250 metres from the Forum Sport Centre and only 800 metres from Courmayeur city centre (10 minutes on foot). The picture windows of the restaurant look out over the Courmayeur valley, dominated by impressive peaks like Dente Del Gigante and Grandes Jorasses. Our Restaurant is also open to outside Guests. It provides half hoard (if requested, we offer lunch as well) with innovative recipes and the typical cuisine of the Aosta Valley. Our well-stocked wine cellar allows guests to choose from a selection of regional wines, perfectly matching with the meals. The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of homemade cakes and biscuits, croissants, jams, yogurts, cereals, stewed fruit and juices.Hotel Des Glaciers has 17 rooms, all with en suite bathroom (with shower or bath) and equipped with telephone, colour LCD TV, mini bar, safe and hairdryer.A free wifi connection is available throughout the hotel.Hotel Des Glaciers offers its Guests: a bar; a nice garden with solarium and with a well-equipped play area for children where you can enjoy your time in a unique environment; free indoor and outdoor parking; a small museum gathering items collected by the owner’s father, ex alpine guide; a beautiful tavern decorated in a traditional alpine style with a fireplace and television where you can relax drinking a good hot chocolate, a tasteful cocktail or a “grolla dell’amicizia”.Thanks to its central location, all services are very close: the new cable car, the Fun Park, the slope taking back to Dolonne, the Forum Sport Centre, the “Courmaclub” disco and the sports shops. Hotel Des Glaciers is co-operating with Pré-Saint-Didier (6 km far from our Hotel) and Saint Vincent (60 km far from our Hotel) Spas in order to offer you hours of relax at a favourable rate. ... more   less

“We were given the option of a double room with access via a narrow spiral staircase. They werent kidding about the staircase but the room was very quiet and the view to Courmayeur was majastic - especially at night across the snow covered valley.”
