We travelled as a couple and both loved the hotel. The décor is lovely – I’ve never stayed in a hotel with so much colour! The bed was comfy and the room had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. We forgot a travel adapter but the gentleman on reception gave us one and was happy for it to...

This hotel has wonderful staff and a fun, lively paint scheme in the rooms and common areas. The free breakfast was extensive and tasty. Our top floor room was good sized and included a jacuzzi tub. Convenient and quiet location. The only minuses are that wi-if is only available in the dining area and the elevator doesn't go to the...

We enjoyed staying in this hotel immensely. It's a very chic boutique hotel tucked away in Santa Croce but really just 2 minutes walk from the water taxi stop of Riva de Basio and just two stops away from the train station. We were given a suite. Fernando, Mauricio and Andrea were fantastic in making our stay as comfortable and...

Loved our recent stay! Beautiful rooms in a historic building. Lovely, helpful staff, quiet location just a short walk to the canals. Our first visit to Venice and Ca Zusta but will not be our last! Thank you!

This was our second time in Venice - and it couldn't have been better! We stayed for two weeks in Italy in five different hotels - and Hotel Ca Zusto definitely takes the title of best stay! First of all, it's located amazingly - about ten minutes walk from Ferrovia, and 15-20 minutes to most tourist attractions. The hotel is...

We stayed here for two nights in a junior suite - the room was very well equipped with a double bed that can be split into singles & a single bed. There was a spa bath which was lovely & an overhead shower. The shower wasn't amazing but did the job. As is custom in Italy there were no Tea...

Excellent stay - room size was generous by European standards. A healthy walk from Rialto, but actually quite a nice location tucked away. Enjoyed waking to the church bells in the morning. Excellent coffee at breakfast.

The hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma, the main bus station in Venice. After booking, the hotel sent very specific directions in an email, meaning we were able to locate it easily on arrival. Check in was very efficient; all of the staff we encountered during our stay were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were allocated...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is an ancient patrician palace of the fourteenth century in a noble and sophisticated style just a few steps from the Grand Canal. Thanks to the skilful conservative renovation, the building has been restored to its former glory, when Venice was a crossroads between East and West. The result is a boutique hotel, unique and innovative from all points of view: from the comfort of which it disposes to the design of the interiors which reaches its highest expression in the only 22 rooms of the hotel. Each one of them is exclusive and unique. High tech equipments integrate themselves within ancient and aristocratic spaces, creating strong contrasts, the true expressive sign of the whole building. Curtains and brocades, precious bedspreads and the ceilings with ancient beams stand out of different tones of color. Everyone clearly feels the inspiration from Byzantine atmospheres. The service is 4 stars, with great attention to each detail and thought to satisfy every desire, in the name of the Italian hospitality. The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is a little jewel to be lived and discovered in the historic heart of Vernice. From the "Basilica della Salute" on the Grand Canal to the small canals all around the "Teatro La Fenice" or between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, a traditional gondola tour is ideal to appreciate some of the most beautiful settings of Venice. ... more   less
