Greeted by such a warm, friendly hostess, we swiftly settled in, and loved our room! Big comfy bed and ensuite, very quiet too - so we slept like logs every night. Such a wonderful location, hardly any tourists and right on the waterfront. We ate breakfast (such an amazing selection of Italian goodies!) by the window every morning, listening to...

We were only in Venice for about 24 hours, definitely need more time! It was a nice room, up 3 flights of stairs though was a pain. Very spacious, HUGE dresser (took up one whole wall), and great views. We did have to use a communal bathroom which would have been annoying had we stayed longer, but it was fine...

I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids (try getting a family room in venice for under 200 euros on easter weekend???) It is over on Guidecca which is incredibly well connected to the main areas by vaporetto, 24 hours a day. Owners were very charming and extremely helpful. Breakfast was laid out for us the next day which...

My sister and I visited Venice in June 2011 and were fortunate to stay at Ca' Isabella. The B&B is operated by a family and the only one who spoke English was the teacher/daughter however we were VERY well treated and had an absolutely wonderful stay. I would love to go back again and again and would stay there every...

Three of us stayed at Ca' Isabella. After we made reservations on a third-party website, the owners emailed us a one-page sheet to help find their place. But it was quite easy to find. They are on Guidecca, right on the canal. We bought a 36-hour transportation ticket so we could come and go as we pleased. Room was clean...

This is a small B&B, only 3 or 4 rooms I think on the island of Giudecca in the Venetian lagoon. It's family run and both affordable (we paid 100 Euro per night) and very friendly and roomy. When we arrived we were given a map of the Venetian area and she went over the Vaporetto lines and times with...

Wonderful bed and breakfast conveniently located on the Giudecca Canal in Venice. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of most of the tourists, but just a short vaporetto ride from every place you want to see. Beautiful view from the common room of the canal and city. The staff is very helpful and gave us tips on what...

Great location as Giudecca is a suburb for the locals - not noisy, smelly, crowded expensive or mosquito ridden and just a quick trip by Vaporetto to St Mark's square. Most elegant yet inexpensive base from which to see Venice. Hosts are responsive, yet discreet. Breakfast is sumptuous - enough for lunch too if you are saving euros. Awesome trattoria...

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ca Isabella is an ancient palace along the Giudecca's Canal near "Molino Stuky" and Hilton Hotel. B&B Ca Isabella is situated at the second and last floor with a panoramic view over Venice and over St. Mark's Bacin and it's elegantly restored and furnished. A double bedroom and a triple bedroom look out over a quite private court, while another triple bedroom looks out over St. Mark's Bacin and has a panoramic view over Venice. Every bedoom has its own private bathroom inside, air conditioning, minifridge, hairdryer. From the spacious dining room, where breakfast is served every morning from 8:00 to 10:00 and where you can relax on the sofa every time you wish, you can admire the same panoramic view over St. Mark's Bacin and over Venice too. Ca Isabella is in a wonderful position, because it's very close to the waterbus stop ( 150 metres), and from here it takes only 10 minutes by waterbus to St. Mark's square, 18 minutes to train station, Piazzale Roma Terminal and Tronchetto car Park. Giudecca is a part of Venice very well served from public transport means during the day and during the night too. ... more   less
