I was unfortunately rather disappointed to be ushered into a tiny room with a shower one could barely fit in, even though we are thin people. The pictures displayed in the booking.com portal are misleading and one should request the room that face the sea. Not sure about other interior based rooms, but we had one that was not as...

Dear Guest The Room you booked was a Double Classic Room, esactly that one in booking.com pictures. The other rooms are Junior Suite Classic or Junior Suite Lagoon view. All the best Giovanni

We stayed here for 3 days last week. It was amazing. We booked the suite with the Lagoon view. The place is about a 8 minute walk to St. Marc's but so nice to be away from the tourist crowds. Delicious cappuccino in the morning and friendly and helpful staff. We couldn't have been happier.

Location of the place was good. It was within walking distance to the key places to visit while far enough from the crowd Giovanni, the owner was very nice and helpful. Advised us...

What a lovely place... when we eventually found it!!! The entrance is through a non-descript wooden door that has the tiniest sign saying La Rosa de Venti. We walked up and down the waterfront many times and googled directions and eventually spotted it! We had been travelling for a week with no access to emails so I had not seen...

We stayed as a family of three (one double room, one single) in December. The location is very well placed to access all the key sites as well as walks off the beaten track through the city. Giovanni is a proud Venetian and happy to talk about his city. He is an erudite and informative host for travellers who want...

We stayed one night as a couple. The structure is very characteristic, with charming velvet curtains, elegant furniture, classy details. Our room was very spacious, with a modern small bathroom. We met a woman that was introduced as the "cleaning lady" but in fact takes care of the structure and of the guests and speaks a few languages besides Italian,...

If you are someone who requires service in the afternoons or evenings, this is not the place for you, as it is not staffed much after noon. Also, if you arrive after noon, your keys are in the mailbox which does not get communicated well. That aside, the B&B is perfectly located. It is an easy walk to St Mark's...

We had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect. On the Grand Canal in a more quiet area but a close enough walk to get to the center. Rooms were spacious. Only 2 of them have the water view. Breakfast was Continental but good.

When we left The owner told us to we still had to pay the room. We where confused because we thought we already payed it weeks before. But we trusted them and payed again at the check inn. When we got home we checked our payments and yes we payed months before we arrived at the B&B. When we contacted...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
