Lovely hotel within walking distance to San Marco piazza and many shops. Room was beautiful and service was amazing. We asked for suggestions on restaurants and the ones given were really good. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will stay again here in our next visit.

My two friends and I were lucky enough to stay in this charming hotel a few weeks ago. We felt very welcome the moment we came to the desk and was helped by the very pleasant desk clerk. We were only staying in Venice for one night but wished we had longer to linger in our beautiful hotel room. The...

I stayed in this beautiful hotel last June (2014) we were upgraded upon arrival due to a booking error on their behalf so ended up in a suite, The hotel is very beautiful with lots of character, The size is perfect, it is small enough that it never feels over whelming but big enough that you do not spend to...

Just returned from our second stay at this wonderful hotel in the heart of this unique city. This time we stayed for longer - 8 nights - and the friendly, efficient service was both the same on day 8 as day 1 but also equally as good as remembered from a few years ago. This hotel is in the centre...

We had a fabulous few days in Venice for the Carnival and Valentine's weekend. The hotel room was great, large, clean and tidy and full of character. The staff were friendly and helpful, we had both the buffet breakfast and breakfast in our room over the course of our stay and both were good value. Highlight was my boyfriend asking...

My girlfriend and I just finished our vacation in Venice and had a fantastic stay at the Ca' Bragadin Carabba. The room was fantastic - much larger than we expected and with a private rooftop deck - and the service was top-notch. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Ca' Bragadin Carabba over Valentines weekend during the Venice Carnival. Bit tricky to find, a small door down a narrow alley, but that's normal for Venice :) As the sign outside says, it's a Charming Little Inn. Our stay was great, the staff were really friendly, the room comfortable and clean.

Stayed here during the Carneval. Luckily in the evening most people leave the city so it is quiet during the night. Our room was clean and tidy and we had a good rest´s sleep. The breakfast was extra for 16.-eur buffet, continental was also available, but had to be taken in the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Location is central and not far from Rialto boat stop. Like many hotels and BB's signs are not very large or easy to find but that is Venice. Like someone said you have not been to Venice unless you have lost your way at least once. We did not have a problem finding it but we kept eyes on our...

A great place to stay-large clean and beautiful warm(In Feb. !) rooms. Centrally located. It's only drawback is the lack of a sign. It's hidden in a small alley off Campo Santa Maria. So look for Santa Maria hotel as an indicator

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
