My husband and I loved this wonderful little B&B. The decor was perfect - exactly what I pictured for Venice. Our room was beautiful and quite large. However, the best part about Bloom is the roof top terrace. We spent plenty of time up there relaxing enjoying the amazing views. There were a lot of stairs, but they kind of...

We took our first trip to Venice as a celebration of my husband's birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. I found the Bloom highly recommended in The Times travel guide to Venice, deservedly so as it turns out. Tucked away in Santo Stefano square, a stone's throw from the canal (we took a water taxi from...

The first thing we noticed about this place was how lovely the staff at reception were. The lady who greeted us was polite and friendly. We were shown to our rooms quickly, and they were both cozy and stylish. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Saint Marco cathedral - close enough to visit with minimal effort,...

My friend and I stayed during the second week of our Easter holiday and had such a wonderful stay. Despite the time of year, the hotel wasn't that busy - just right. The decor in the hotel was gorgeous, it was beautifully laid out, but be prepared to climb stairs if you stay where the terrace is. Our room was...

Bloom B&B is brilliantly located to visit just about everywhere in Venice, situated just off Campo San Stefano. This is close to San Marco, as well as three (!) vaporetto stops (Accademia, S.Angelo and S.Samuele). The wonderful Dosoduro area is a short walk away across the Accademia Bridge (5 mins walk from the hotel). You can see the Grand Canal...

This small hotel is tucked away near the Santo Stefano square, very near the Accademia, and is in fact opposite the Santo Stefano church. The Reception desk is at the Locanda Fiorita, in the Piazza Nova o dei Morti just round the corner. There is a roof terrace with a fantastic view of the square. The room and bathroom were...

'Bloom' is a beautifully decorated boutique B&B in a perfect location to explore Venice. We really could not fault the place, the room, breakfasts, hospitality and whole experience were perfect. A special mention too for the manager Anthony who was so helpful and gave us some fantastic recommendations for dinner, none of which disappointed. On top of all this a...

Bloom was an excellent choice for our one night stop over in Venice.A great location for sight seeing, very reasonable price in November. The instructions to find it were very helpful but we were unaware that the hotel in the square was the reception for Bloom which was round the corner. We booked this B&B after it was mentioned in The Sunday Times (Travel Section). It is well located and the room was a good size. It also had a full sized bath with shower above. Breakfast was continental, possibly a bit basic but plenty to keep you going for the morning. There a roof top terrace and lounge too, available...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
