From the moment we rang the bell at the front door we were welcomed into this B&B. With it's always locked front door providing security we felt safe and secure staying here. The staff welcomed us so caringly, warm and personal. We were hours early for check in and wanted to just know if we could leave our bags. The...

It is a nice clean bed and breakfast , the balcony literally makes it worth everything , you can sit there and drink wine and enjoy the amazing view of the canal ! (ONLY TWO ROOMS WITH A BALCONY) the rooms were clean , a bit annoying that after a certain hour nobody is there if you need anything ....

My wife and I just returned from Venice and stayed at the La Palazzina Veneziana and had a great experience. This place has a great location on a busy through fare but was very quiet and tranquil within the B&B. Excellent and very helpful staff, great breakfasts and nice authentic rooms. Definitely would recommend this and/or stay there again if...

It doesn't get any better than the balcony room in this Venetian jewel. The staff are welcoming and friendly and ensure that you know all the parts of Venice to explore. the hotel is spotlessly clean and the balcony room is sheer perfection. Drinking Prosecco with this view is the best ever. Not everyone will get this experience but we...

Splurge and go for the balcony room. It faces one of the smaller canal but it's an amazing view in the morning. Breakfast is great and you can have it on your balcony too! Reception is super friendly and they showed us all the amenities upon checking in. Wifi works great. Absolutely loved this room!

This hotel was full of surprises but very good at the same time. My wife and I stayed here from 14th - 16th September. We arrived in Venice via the train from Florence, and the hotel is located just a short walk from the Santa Lucia station. On arrival we went to the main hotel and checked in and then...

They put us in the annex, which meant across the street through a narrow alley, behind a restaurant, and through two more alleys. Didnt expect Annex to mean this. Room was fine , A/C pretty weak. I would go somewhere else next time I come to Venice. Did not think it was a great value for my money. Close to...

Dear Mr ZMBA, we are sorry you haven' t been fully satisifed with your stay and and you haven't been pleased, above all, about your accomodation in the annex bulding. We had a moderately pleasant stay at this B&B... I agree with others, it is not a hotel. I would not stay here if not for their amazing room with balcony overlooking the canal, room was ok but balcony was amazing I have to say!! Staff was not really friendly and didn't go out of their way to make us...

Dear guest, thanks for expressing your comments in your detailed review as it allows us to clarify some misunderstanding/confusion you probably have about our tasks and the concept of hospitality. When we arrived at Venice we were unsure as to where the hotel was located, to our amazement the hotel was conveniently located 2 minutes flat work from the water bus terminal. After seeing how many hidden hotels there are this was a relief. There are many great restaurants in the surrounding area and we were able to walk to...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
