We didn't stay in the hotel itself, but in one of their apartments - we got the "Gold" apartment. It was perfect! 3 big bedrooms of which 2 of them had double beds. A big kitchen for who wants to cook themselves, a big living room and 2 bathrooms. It is in an old building restructured really nicely and only...

The lobby of this hotel is very welcoming being beautifully decorated in rich colours but in a modern style. The numerous lit candles in the evening contribute to the cosy but slightly mysterious atmosphere which resonates with Venice and all its history. The people who work there there are polite, helpful and friendly but not obtrusive. The location is a...

Dear Cath. Thank you for your detailed and appreciative review about your experience at AD Place Venice. It is moreover a delight reading that the majority of our staff had a courteous and helpful attitude. On the other hand we regret to read that the showering arrangement was not so good, nowadays we are trying to fix it in order...

I visited this hotel last year for my honeymoon. It's such a charmingly designed hotel. The rooms are very cozy with comfortable bed. The location was very convenient, close to all the attractions in venice. Our room was in the attic, I almost died trying to climb the stairs, but it was totally worth it.

Dear Guest, We are delighted that you enjoyed the central location of AD Place Hotel, truly at walking distance of the major attactions and at few minutes water taxi ride to the most far away sites within the lagoon, as well as the hotel’s décor. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon for another memorable experience, Best regards AD Place

Our apartment was a three bed, two bath, kitchen and lounge room set up. Very spacious and was great for our family of four. Very close to San Marco and Rialto and views of the canals from the room. Minor complaints - can be a little noisy very early in the morning with the workers using the little jetty by...

Actually, it is really hard to rate for a hotel in Venice, because basically it is really hard to judge Venice !!! To be frank, people have a tough life over there with water, and water and water. As far as we experienced, they are well adopted to their land, anyhow. Venice can be both interesting and boring. First I...

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at AD Place where we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. We spent quite some time reading the reviews of accomodation in Venice before deciding to book this hotel. The location is superb - 10 mins walk to St. Marks' square and only 15 mins to the Rialto...

A nice quirky hotel in an amazing area. Great service, nice breakfast, colourful rooms and a beautiful roof. Only issue we had were some people speaking loudly on the roof at two in the middle Ning but the hotel took care of that immediately. Would definitely stay there again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
