My husband and I just concluded a two week tour of Italy, ending our trip at the Ad Place in Venice. What a gem of a hotel! The location is unbeatable, the staff is courteous, and the hotel itself has a nice balance of elegance and whimsy. We booked a double room, expecting the typical small bedroom. What a pleasant...

My wife and I have just returned from a two week trip around Italy, and spend 2 luxurious nights at the Ad Place. This hotel was the perfect sanctuary to call ‘home’ while in Venice very close to all the major sites; Piazza San Marco, Doge’s Palace, the Academy Gallery, and is a stone throw from the historic 'La Fenice'...

Practical info for you to decide when comparing similarly priced hotels...and remembering that you will spend most of your time in Venice and not your room (so this hotel did not in any way take away from the stunning magic of Venice!). The good news: the hotel goes out of its way to answer questions about Venice(I had many by...

Highly recommend this hotel. Also, thank you so much for giving us such a pleasant surprise with the nicely decorated room, champagne and snacks. 1. Superb...

My wife and I stay at the Ad Place Venice Hotel in April 2011. We found our stay fantastic, having coming from the port of venice we took the ferry boat to within five minutes walk of the hotel which was very handy. The Hotel is located centrally, there is so much to see once you walk five minutes either...

It pains me to give this hotel 2 out of 5, but I feel I have to warn others about the wi-fi. In this day and age I believe that decent wi-fi in a hotel (especially an expensive one) is no less essential than hot running water. If you are reading this then you are a trip-adviser traveller and will,...

This hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly and approachable. We were on our honeymoon and asked for something complimentary we got the choice of either champagne or cocktails. The room is air conditioned, there is a fridge, a hairdryer, and slippers. Also the hotel serves a complimentary breakfast that is very tasty. The hotel is located close to...

We stayed at AD Place for our Honeymoon... the rooms were really funky, cleaned and tidied twice a day plus it had an iphone dock for music... the breakfasts were great, plenty of choice, bacon and scrambled eggs, croissants, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice plus more! Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
