Residence Palazzo Odoni was just beautiful. The rooms exude such charm and the hotel has a great location close to the main train station and the Vaporetto stops. We took the Vaporetto to the main sights such as St. Marco and Rialto bridge, Very convenient and so enjoyable. The hotel is owned by a couple who go out of their... More

The Residence Palazzo Odoni provided a great location for our trip to Venice. The apartment was spacious, modern and very affordable. Our family enjoyed coming back to the apartment after a long day of exploring. We would definitely recommend checking out the Palazzo Odoni

We stayed here for 1 night before and after our cruise. We are a family of 4 and our "apartment" had a room with a king bed, and then a separate room with a pull out couch. Each apartment--we were in 2 different ones, had another couch that someone can sleep on--the first one in the room with the pullout... More

We stayed in the residence for 2 nights at the end of July and it was the highlight of our holiday. Through the front door, into a beautiful courtyard and a warm welcome from Michele - this really feels like a true venetian experience - the room we stayed in was lovely with high ceilings, period furniture and decor and... This was an overall great stay! The room was incredible, with a great view, air-conditioning, great beds, cool decor and a kitchenette including a refrigerator. I stayed here with my parents and 2 younger brothers and there was plenty of room for all of us. The wifi works great and is free. It also is only about a 10 minute... More

We love Venice, and have in the past always stayed in a hotel. This time round we took our sons (19 and 21) with and wanted a bit more space as a family. I have always looked with wonder and longing at quiet little court yards when passing an open gate in the narrow bustling streets of Venice. Well this... More

As you walk through the entrance door for the first time you are amazed at the sight of the lovely old courtyard. This is even better in the evening when it is candle lit. There is then quite a climb up the old staircase but well worth it (even with very tired feet from walking all day) . We stayed... More

I've stayed in the Tiepolo room at Palazzo Odoni for 2 nights, with my parents (in their early 70s). We've enjoyed our stay and we would definitely come back there. Michele has been very helpful and friendly, and the room had plenty of space for 3 people. Thanks for everything!

Loved it!! Just stayed at the Residence yesterday. I loved the location - a short walk from the train station and i appreciated being away from San Marco. I loved the room - we didn't have a canal view but the room itself was great - a jacuzzi tub, kitchen, separate bedroom, and living room.

What a view and what a location!! Perfecto! Just minutes from the bus station, but entrance to the most beautiful canals and historical views of Venice! We stayed in the large Caravaggio Room and had a separate kitchen, bath and pull out couches to sleep more if needed. The courtyard will take your breath away- Candle-lit entrance at night takes... Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
