Canal Grande is a charming boutique hotel located in Ca' Polacco, an elegant little palace which has just been restored. The furniture of the hotel is characterised by the elegance of Rococo style, typical of 18th century Venice. The lobby with its rose marble fireplace, the breakfast room with its golden mirrors, and the bar with its Venetian red velvet armchairs overlook the Grand Canal and are the best places where to begin and end a day! The small terrace on the Grand Canal gives our Guests the possibility to have a drink in a special setting and to "breathe the air of the canal"!!

We needed a one night stay in Venice, preferably near the train station. We were arriving by train, and flying out from Marco Polo airport the next morning. Hotel Canal Grande popped up in the Trip Advisor ratings, the location was an easy-in, easy out proposition, so we gave it a try. The hotel was completely rebuilt in 2009, and is spotless,. The location is easily walkable from Santa Lucia station (with one reasonable roller bag), and close to a vaporetto stop. Rooms are decorated in a classical "Venetian" style, beds are comfortable, furniture is new and high quality, and the overall physical facility hs been well-planned. The staff is uniformly excellent, from reception to breakfast room; everyone goes out of their way to assist in any way possible. Breakfast was one of the best we've experienced anywhere (including view of Grand Canal form table) If you're connecting by water taxi, the hotel has their own dock, and is conveniently situated to get to the airport via the lagoon. A caution if you're leaving via Marco Polo airport- the security line there is the worst we've encountered anywhere. We arrived 2 1/2 hours before flight time, and the flight was boarding by the time we got to the gate.

We had a romantic stay in this hotel. The crew was very friendly and competent. The breakfast was also very good and in time of COVID-19 perfect organized! The view to Canale Grande with the different boats in traffic was very impressive.

For a step back in time but a luxurious stay! Although the rooms and ensuites are quite small, the cleanliness, appointment, quietness, darkness for sleep, customer service & daily breakfast made for an excellent stay. Don't expect a big TV but this hotel is situated in a great location on the Grand Canal. We would recommend this smaller hotel to anyone wanting a true but pleasant Venetian stay. Very grateful.

We had a wonderful stay! We started our 2 week vacation at this hotel, and it could not have been better. The room was beautiful, the views were gorgeous, and it had a great location. The staff was amazing. Each and every staff member was helpful, cheerful, and so accommodating. Loved the breakfast in the mornings sitting on the dock outside, as well as a drink from the bar overlooking the canal at the end of the day. Highly, highly recommend!

A great hotel experience begins and ends with the service. Sure, the location and a great room are important and Canal Grande Hotel offers both. But they have an edge: some of the best service we’ve ever experienced. We were greeted with smiles by everyone and they were consistently helpful and looked for ways to make our stay better. A prime example- the staff noticed the day we checked in happened to be my wife’s birthday and surprised her with an amazing chocolate cake in our room that evening along with a card signed by all the staff. We’ve never experienced this level of thoughtful service and really appreciated it. It made our stay truly memorable and we can’t wait to be back.

My mother and I kicked off our two week Italy trip with two nights here. Arriving Jet-Lagged and tired, every staff member made us feel welcome and attended to all we needed. Our room was beautiful on the canal, and enjoying a sip of prosecco with the Venetian breeze and charming sounds of the canal was such a treat. The concierge never failed us, making our trip so easy and relaxing with suggestions, dinner reservations, concert tickets, and walking us to our gondola ride. The service staff at breakfast and through-out the day were life savers and made such lovely memories with designs on the cappuccinos and friendly smiles with each espresso. The location was perfect, we opted for a shuttle ride from the airport, water taxies, and then a porter and driver upon departure. All was arranged through the front desk and was safe and smooth. Every time we left, upon return the staff would remember and ask how our activities went. The room was comfy, great temperature, and nice amenities. Nothing negative to say here. Look no further for a beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, and excellent location.

The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We had 2 lovely rooms, both with views of the Grand Canal, one of which had a sizable terrace. Buffet Breakfast included vast selection of fresh fruits and juices, pastries and cakes, meats and cheeses, warm and cold entrees, you name it. They made arrangements for us to see many of the sights and dine at some of the finer local establishments. Would definitely return.
