Aquarius is situated in the Santa Croce district, far away from the mass tourism. The palace overlooks San Giacomo dell’Orio square, an authentic island in the town, living in every moment of the day, where it is still possible to enjoy the true Venetian life among people still speaking Venetian dialect and where survive shops, nice typical restaurants and bars. The San Giacomo dell’Orio church, one of the oldest churches in Venice, frames this small popular and traditional corner. The interiors have an essential, but warm design, predominately of hazelnut, Havana and cream shades. The inner space is characterized by exposed bricks and stones, wood details, glass and gilded metal. The very comfortable 27 rooms and the 5 Apartments have a contemporary furnishing, embellished by glassware, Murano chandeliers , artistic pictures and decorative elements, exclusively created by local artists and craftsmen.

Great apartment in a really good location. Staff were very helpful, arranging our airport transfers for us. The accommodation was well kitted out for a weekend stay, and longer. The accommodation was spotless and quiet. Can't wait to stay there again.

Just have a wonderful stay at this hotel. Boutique-ish yet very open with its wide lobby, wonderful courtyard area, and high ceilings in lots of public areas and the accommodations. The Airport Public Water Ferry (Boat A) stops at the station closest to the hotel (S. Stae) and a short 3-5 minute walk to the hotel depending on if you have luggage to drag. Do note there is a small walking bridge to cross to get to the hotel. The lobby is nice and large. Charlotte at the front reception was nice and friendly. The room we got was nice and large with at least 12 foot ceilings. Nice and large compared to to other hotels in Venice. The interior is nice and renovated and also have some Venetian touches such as Murano glass lights, etc. The bathroom was nice and updated. Breakfast was included on the second floor breakfast room with the same high ceiling and makes it feel so big. Although breakfast spread is not lavish, it has everything you want including scrambled eggs and bacon, cheese plates, veges, lots of different pastries including waffles and pancakes, and daily selection of various fruits and fruit salads. The ladies working the breakfast room were nice and friendly. The hotel has a big courtyard with lots of sitting area and a bar that opens at nice. Great place to hang out after a day out and about in Venice. The hotel, although not on the San Marco island, is centrally located and I like the little plaza in front of the hotel with some local eateries and restaurants. There is also a Coop right in front for snacks and drinks. A good gelato place is also around the corner. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the Rialto bridge, or go back to S. Stae and take the water ferry for three stops. I want to especially mention Giovanna that assisted us with our reservation and adjustments to dates and availabilities. The only complaint I would say is that the internet is not the fastest and cuts in and out during “peak” usage. Definitely a return when coming back to Venice.

My husband and I found this boutique hotel through a Google search for best hotels in Venice. We were NOT disappointed! This is a treasure for couples who want a romantic getaway in a relaxing part of Venice. Service is paramount at every turn within this updated palazzo. Modern artwork is the tastefully displayed throughout the hotel and courtyard. The front desk staff, Fabio, Carlotta and a few additional friendly staff members helped up check in earlier than usual, upgraded us to a junior suite to honor our wedding anniversary, and helped us arrange an early morning water taxi to the airport. The hot/cold breakfast buffet had a wide assortment of food for every taste, with attentive staff restocking and clearing plates in the dining room. Our junior suite had 2 windows that opened up to the courtyard below. Inside the suite, the colors, artwork and slippers/robe made for a warm and inviting stay! The artistic cocktail lounge in the courtyard had a modern vibe. The courtyard was very quiet during the day and evening, so a great place to have a nice romantic nightcap. We will definitely make the Aquarius our home when we return to beautiful Venice!

THIS is the location you want. Restaurants close by, but you avoid the big crowds and all the commotion. Everything was perfect. The breakfast was awesome with lots of options. Rooms and public areas were clean. The staff were very friendly. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in early. The little bar in the courtyard is nice. And there is plenty of restaurants in the area. You also are avoiding the super crowded areas that are packed and loud.

We loved this hotel. It is exquisitely designed. You will wind up taking photos of all of the interiors. The courtyard/garden bar is an especially lovely place to relax in the cool of the afternoon. The rooms are very large by Venetian standards and are sumptuously comfortable without being coated in damask and brocade like most Venetian hotel rooms. You could really appreciate the elegance of the Venetian palazzo, but in a modern setting. I loved that it was not a “Venetian theme park” style hotel. And it was not so glamorous that you felt you couldn’t touch anything. It was so comfortable and welcoming. Just gorgeous. But really it is the staff that make this hotel so great. We were lucky enough to have Fabio as our personal gourmet tour guide of Venice. He booked us into romantic, delicious restaurants with incredible locations. From traditional Venetian favourites to modern Venetian cuisine. We just would never have found these places in guide books or online. I would stay at this hotel again for him alone. And he was just the best of all the wonderful staff. I can honestly say that every interaction with a staff member was a pleasure. I will never stay anywhere else in Venice.

Fabulous hotel recently redecorated to the highest modern quality. From the welcome cool reception with wall length aquarium tanks filled with colourful fish to the spacious bedrooms with the original mosaic floors so typical of Venice, everything is well planned and tasteful. The bar in the courtyard garden is relaxing and quiet with Mauro providing courteous and efficient advice. Breakfast was an amazing spread and even had crispy bacon! A gem.

It started badly when the reception told us that the room would be available at 3:00 p.m., and in the reservation conditions it said at 2:00 p.m. The hotel is nice and in a good area. Excessively modern and with the intention of presenting itself as luxurious: Murano lamps, exposed beams, conceptual lighting... But the floor of the room is falsely made of wood. A symptom. Our room was 101: AVOID IT. It should never have been a room. It is on the mezzanine, next to reception, without physical separation; so it's noisy and not very intimate. Improper of the millionaire that will have been spent, of a 4-star hotel and of the luxury that they wish to exhibit. At night, in fact, I had to call reception because voices from a conversation were coming from there at an excessive volume. The receptionist didn't speak English (is it possible?), didn't want to understand Italian either and directly lied, insisting that no one was speaking. False: I checked it with my own eyes and after the call the noise stopped. It's a good principle that the customer is always right, is it? The next day I went to breakfast five minutes before its start time because I had to catch a plane very early, to have a coffee and because tourists don't wear watches. The waitress, piqued, looked at the clock indignantly, although I didn't cause her any trouble and I asked her if she would prefer to come later. A pity, in short, between the enormous expectations that they intend to offer to the client and the service that they actually offer. Venice is full of hotels, at least.

Dear Sir , we are sorry that among so many positive feedback you seem not to have appreciate our service and our property , however we would like to point out some incorrect information you gave in your report. Check in is at 3 pm , but we normally accod the possibility to enter the room as soon as they are ready , in other words it depends when the previous client has checked out . The hotel is not impersonal but is fullfielled with local artists items like the magnificent chandeliers of Murano and sculptures of venetian artists well knowed worldwide. The room Room has a wood pavements very in use in the old venetian palazzi like our and is not falsely made as you mention . It is a typical room with a great view on the Campo San Giacomo and a big window on the first floor ( why avoid it ?) Receptionist in our hotel speak at least 3 languages and all of us English pretty well . It is furthermore strange that you could not talk to our recpetionist no matter the time it was ! Last but not least , breakfast service is served from 7.30 to 10.30 but waitresses are on duty since 6 am and we have never i mean never denied a brekfast to no one even at 6.15 (of course with what was ready at that time ) ! We also provide box breakfast if we are informed the night before of early check out , but as you mention tourist do not wear watches and miss their planes !!! Again we are sorry that you get so upset for reason we do not understand and felt the words pretensious you use as an insult we do not feel we deserve it as we provide in full the servcie we declare and that the majority of other clients seems to appreciate in full . We do hope to have the possibility to host you again in our property and make you change your mind about Hotel Aquarius , meanwhile we remain at your disposal for any further enquiry you'll may have at all times , Yours truly

As any frequent traveler knows, usually the choice of hotels in Venice is between extremely expensive and tourist traps. This property is one of the very few hotel gems offering very good quality at decent prices. It is located in a quiet - still genuine - neighborhood not far from a boat stop on the grand canal and also within walking distance from the Rialto bridge and thus St. Mark's square. The hotel is quite new, having been built from scratch inside an old but sturdy palazzo structure. Thus the rooms and bathrooms, though not very large, are modern and functional. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is adequate. Discerning tourists should go for it!

Wonderful hotel in Venice. Stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Creative contemporary design throughout. We had four rooms for the extended family - each room was different, and all were nice. Great courtyard bar to assemble for a drink before heading out. Comprehensive breakfast buffet. All the good stuff in Venice is readily accessible on foot. Extra special: great service throughout (thanks, Fabio!). Would definitely stay again, and gladly recommend to a friend.
