Top suite, top price, top view over the canal. Room was old, dirty, run down, with dirty windows The entertainment standard was equal to the '80s Bathroom very old and very 'used' And if u have lunch at the pool, enjoy the pigeons eating with you

Dear Sir, I am really sorry to read your comments about your stay with us at the end of April. We have allocated the same suite you had during your last visit and we sincerely thoughts that you were happy with it as we haven't received any comments during your stay. The hotel is nice but felt more like I was at my grannys house than at a world class top hotel. The bathroom set was older than my grandmothers house! The room was fine but as a suite with terrace and views we were surprised to have to climb stairs, duck doorways, and deal with wasps nests! The pool is...

Dear Sir, I am very sorry to learn that your stay in September 2014 at our Belmond Hotel Cipriani was not up to your expectations. Also, I regret that you did not like the style and décor of your room and, in this connection, I would like to inform you that during last winter we renovated various rooms and also...

The Cipriani is an outstanding, sophisticated hotel set within beautiful grounds. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable and the location is stunning. The hotel is just a short boat ride away from the bustling St Mark's Square and an abundance of trendy restaurants and boutiques. Our room was light, airy and elegant and had...

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Arrive by boat to the reception, get taken to your room, so open and light, still traditional, but not stuffy like some hotels can be. A little claustrophobic in the lift, but the stairs are quick and easy to access. The grounds here are beautiful, a vineyard was our view, and the pool was the...

Italian chic, sophistication and service! Pefect.....yes it is not inexpensive but from the welcome to the rooms the service and cuisine...why go anywhere else. I read some of the less positive reviews but treat people with respect and you will be pleased on how it is appreciated. Wonderful to go to a hotel with Nationals serving....serving with pride!! We were lucky enough to spot two much-reduced price packages offered by the hotel, covering the Easter period - one 3-day offer of dinner, bed & breakfast and the other for bed & breakfast, coinciding with my wife's 70th birthday. Venice initially was freezing and extremely busy, but the hotel was quite wonderful. The choicest and loveliest of varieties of...

i was a little worried about how we would be treated in such a famous hotel, however I needn't have worried...we were treated amazingly...nothing was too much trouble ALL the staff were polite and friendly. We arrived on a water taxi from the airport arranged through the hotel, this was a little on the expensive side, but worth the money...

stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary after arriving in the orient express, the Belmond staff & hotel staff cannot do enough for you. Oro restaurant is interesting but possibly not to everybody's taste, service was superb. Position is fantastic with balcony rooms overlooking the lagoon. Launch to St Marc's square 24 hours a day is a treat Highly recommended

We spent 5 nights here on the tail end of our honeymoon and we are so glad we ended with them. It was the most up to par hotel we stayed at the duration of our 2.5 week honeymoon in Italy. First they have American plugs so no more blowing up any more of my hair tools. The concierge and...

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If Venice is a theatre, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is the Royal Box. It is a resort: a way of life, an island apart, in every sense. And it involves all the senses that make a stay unforgettable. Five minutes by private launch from St. Mark’s Square, on the tip of the Giudecca Island, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is in the heart of the city but removed from its hustle and bustle. Its 95 rooms and suites are exquisitely decorated with magnificent views over the open lagoon, the gardens and St. Marks. A day here is made up of layers of wonderful experiences, from luxuriating beside the Olympic-size swimming pool (the only one in central Venice) to relaxing with a signature treatment at the Casanova Wellness Centre. The Casanova gardens offer an oasis of peace, perfect for a Thai Chi session before heading off with a private boat for a personalised excursion in the lagoon. Choose to dine at the new Oro Restaurant for a timeless dining experience or at the iconic Cip’s Club admiring the view on St. Mark’s. Sip a signature cocktail at the Gabbiano Bar or enjoy a light lunch at the Porticciolo Restaurant. A red-clay tennis court, a gym and dedicated Kids' Club with pool are also available. ... more   less
