Our stay at your hotel was thoroughly enjoyable and the service excellent. Of particular note was Marco who assisted us throughout our stay and your very charming breakfast waitress, always smiling and on hand to assist, where nothing seemed too much trouble. If we come back to Venice (I am sure we will) we will have no hesitation in re-booking,...

The room was clean, the bathroom very new and clean, and the rest of facilities were clean and with nice decoration. Also the breakfast was good and staff were very kind with us. The Hotel is located a 10 minutes walking from St. Mark square, very quiet place and very near from the center of the city.

The hotel itself was clean and nice BUT the staff were disgusting, extremely rude and unhelpful. Venice is an amazing, beautiful place The staff at this establishment ruined it. Do not stay here.

Dear Sir, we are really very upset to read your review. Usually, as you may understand from our 490 reviews on tripadvisor.com, the service provided by our staff it’s highly appreciated by our guests and it’s became a peculiarity of our Hotel. Seems strange that no one of our staff has provided a good service. We can’ t understand why...

The hotel is in a very quiet location with a beautiful view to a small canal and 15 minute walk distance to Piazza San Marco (main attraction). The room is big and confortable however I'm not so fan of the scandalous wallpaper and carpet. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great.

The hotel is situated at a 15 minute walk from St Marc's Square & 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is lovely, cosy & decorated in a venetian style. The corridors & stairways are decorated with Murano glass mirrors & light-fittings, beautiful! The staff are very friendly & helpful. My husband, my 4 chidren (ages 4, 11, 13,...

My sister and I stayed 2 nights here on our recent trip. I'm sure we'd plan longer stay in the future! The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating - even let us check in very early in the day after arriving on the night train from Rome. The room was lovely, large by European standards, quite comfortable, and had a charming...

To say that the new apartments give you the best of both worlds - independence yet the breakfast & other facilities of the Hotel - is an understatement. I hesitate to praise too much for fear of exciting interest & uncreasing the number of people with whom I shall have to do battle next time to book an apartment! Truly...

This hotel was fantastic. We arrived really early from the night train from Munich (we had very little sleep as it was such a bad trip!) so we were so glad that our room was available to check into straight away. The man at the front was always friendly and helpful, the room was on the 1st floor overlooking the...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. We booked directly through their website and got a pretty good rate for a canal view. In my correspondence with them, I'd requested to have a room with multiple balconies, as I'd read about these rooms on Trip Advisor. They did not disappoint. We had one on the side,...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
