Pretty far from the main attractions, but still fine to walk. Since you'll get to see many shops and different bridges on the way (i.e. I Love Ponte delle Guglie bridge). Breakfast was ok. WIFI only available in the lobby, and rooms that are just above the lobby. Blankets were not warm enough, and room was still very cold after...

This hotel is very close to the center, the train station and even cheap places to eat (by Venice standards). The hotel itself is nothing special and the breakfast is quite basic but if you only need a place to sleep and to be close to the center without breaking the bank then this might be a wise choice.

I found the hotel last minute, one hour before my arrival to Venice, and payed around 25 euros plus 3,5 euros city tax. I got a single room with my own bathroom. Although the hotel is a bit old-looking, for such a price in such a city (good location, 2 mins from St. Lucia station), I would say it was...

My friend and i stayed at the hotel 2 night. Our room is excluded breakfast and the staff offered us 5 euro/person which is reasonable price. It is close to train station and room is clean without any smell. The hotel staff are friendly as well.

We stayed at this hotel, hoping we had made a reasonable choice from the hundreds we searched through and were not disappointed. We had asked for a room in a quiet area and they had one for us at the back, overlooking a small courtyard area. So it was very peaceful in a very busy city and the room was...

Despite torrential rain and high tides the staff here kept us smiling. Friendly, professional small and basic hotel but with air con and heating in the room (we needed to use both during our stay). Good breakfast for the price and just 3 minutes walk from Santa Lucia and all the main water bus stops plus a couple of gondola...

I've been there in February, a while ago, but still remember the good and bad parts. In my instance i've had quite a relaxing stay. The staff from the front desk were more than welcoming, having in mind that we've booked a single room and, without any extra fees they've offered us a double. Can't say anything about the food...

The room, which we took was for 4 persons. It is actually good. One bed was too soft und not really comfortable. The other ones were good. The room had a sight on the main street. It was sometimes too noisy. The bath was good, clean and comfortable. It was overall ok and nicht luxury. The room would be refeshed...

- 2mins. walk from the main train & ferry station - close to a lot of shops & restaurants - large area once you enter the hotel premises - rooms are quite big, at least compared to other hotel rooms I've seen in Europe - very basic toiletries & facility, can't recall if they have air conditioning available though -...

I am not that demanding when it comes to hotels. If it is clean, safe and the staff is helpful I give good reviews. But the attitude of the staff (and the hotel) is not acceptable in this case. There was a flood in the street of the hotel and the water was anckle deep all ovet the lobby. Therefore...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
