We stayed for 2 days with Alessandro and we loved the experience! He was very polite, he does the best breakfast and he pointed us to a few restaurants only Venicians know about that were awsome! We ate the best food! Thanks Alessandro for a great stay!!

Had the pleasure of being Alessandro's guest for 2 nights in late June. As the other reviews have said it's an authentic Italian experience! Located in a more 'local' part of Venice. Nothing was too much to ask - we arrived very late (1am) on our first night and he still happily greeted us, booked us some fantastic restaurants and...

A truly authentic B&B experience in Venice and one of the best stays we've had in Italy! Alessandro was an amazing host, who not only pointed out to us his favorite local restaurants, but called to make reservations on our behalf. The breakfast was delicious and Alessandro was great company. My wife and I stayed in the Superior Room for...

Alessandro is the perfect host and the B&B is comfortable, spotless, friendly - everything you could possibly want including a fabulous breakfast every day and a well stocked fridge in our room. And of course Gina, the smartest, cutest, most intelligent dog in Venice was there to make our stay even more perfect. All of Alessandro's recommendations were fabulous. He...

Venice-BB-Venezia is clean, tidy, has working air-conditioning and is in a terrific location near the Ponte Guglie in Cannareggio. But it's much much more than that. Alessandro and Gina - he runs the place, Gina just hangs out - are utterly charming and hospitable. The delicious breakfast is enough to keep a marathoner running for a week. Alessandro provides his...

After meeting Alessandro (and Gina!) we immediately felt like we were part of his family! He was very kind and gave us directions to the best restaurants and gelato around. He even made a booking for us at a great restaurant which was well worth it. Alessandro taught us about some of the Venetian culture (including the "Spritz hour"!) and...

We drove and followed directions from the Pza Roma, problem is you need to walk to the train station Then follow walking directions. If this happens to you: take the bridge to the left when exiting then walk along the canal 3-5 mins until you see a large station on your left. The B&B is not located in San Marco...

We only had the one night on the island but Allessondro greeted us with high spirits and helped us maximize our time by suggesting local delicious restaurants, cafés and gelato shops to have a true Venetian experience. Breakfast was an amazing feast. Only made us wish we had more time and will definitely be back!

Host was very helpful and recommended good local eats. Every morning, a large breakfast would be served by Alessandro himself. Apartment location was excellent, close to the Guglie water taxi station. Overall, a place I would recommend for stay in Venezia. Do try his ice cream recommendation....ask for his fav flavor ;)

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Venice-BB-Venezia is a small and comfortable b&b located on the second floor of a historic 15th century building in the very center of Venice, where you will experience an authentic Venetian lifestyle in the true spirit of bed and breakfast. Nestled in a quiet garden, Venice-BB-Venezia is located in the Cannaregio sestiere, between the Ponte delle Guglie (Spires Bridge), the famous Casino and the Ghetto vecchio (old Jewish Ghetto), a short walk to Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) and Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), and in close proximity to a colourful green market. We can be easily reached from Venice's main arrival terminal: train station (Santa Lucia), bus station (Piazzale Roma) or car parking (Tronchetto), both being just a few minutes away.
