Stayed for 3 nights. The rooms were a bit small. The positives were free wifi and the breakfast was superb !!! It is close to the bus terminal but you have to climb 2 bridges if you are coming from the train station. The staff was friendly !!

Steps away from Piazzale Roma, a wonderful hot and cold buffet breakfast, and staff that went out of their way to try to solve my problems with my travel agent. We had a room overlooking the gardens which was very quiet. Apparently, the hotel keeps expanding so our room required us to go up the elevator and then walk down...

I only have one qualm about this hotel, so let's get that out of the way first...bring mosquito repellant. They do have a plug in repeller that seems to work, but I would bring my own as well. I got bit 25 times on my 25th birthday, seems only fitting right? The consierge was sweet and helpful and gave me...

Chose this hotel because of it's location and since I was on my own I didn't want to have to search for a hotel, dragging my suitcase over bridges and getting lost. Great choice, way beyond my expectations! Had a great room with a view of the canal, the staff are very nice and yes breakfast is wonderful, served in...

This hotel is perfectly situated (a few footsteps from Piazzale Roma) and very quiet.. Very good service. It's the third time I visit the hotel. The price is fair compared to other hôtels of the same category. I recommand it greatly.

A perfect hotel for Venice. Very close to Piazzale Roma where you have buses, vaporettos and trains arriving close by. This is very convenient for anyone starting a cruise in Venice as the People Mover stop to the cruise terminal is very close by.

I found this hotel to be absolutely lovely. It is a 5 minute walk from the Piazzale Roma, which you can reach from the airport by taking an ATVO express coach bus (currently €11 round trip). Piazzale Roma is also a major water bus stop, so you can access anything (I suggest a multi-day pass). I picked this hotel because...

Stayed here last year and service and location are still excellent. Little restaurant i wrote about around the corner raised their prices and food not as good. However hotel still has great variety for breakfast and is convenient to train station, vaporetto and airport shuttle.

Such a classy hotel. So much marble everywhere and centrally located. Loved it and would recommend it to everyone in Venice. Also get water taxi from airport as it is so much FUN. However it is quite expensive

We selected this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and by it's map location: Close to the train station and close to the cruise port. We booked it for 2 nights to do some sightseeing with the thought that the hotel would just be a place to stash our bags. We were very pleasantly surprised to find the hotel warm,...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
