Stayed for a week, great location 30 seconds from St Marks square. 15 mins walk from Rialto Bridge and Accademia. Quiet and rooms comfortable-slept so well all week. Nice quiet lounge for reading and enjoying a coffee. Maids left room fresh and tidy. We didn't...More
Don't know how this hotel got its ⭐️ rating as it does not deserve it.
Decor is from 1970s and winding corridors are gloomy and aged.
The room was awful, with steps up to a tiny bathroom.
The bed sheets were clean.
Breakfast offered a...More
The Hotel is superbly located just a few steps from Piazza San Marco. The interior of the hotel completely corresponds to the charm of the city: antique furniture, high ceilings, the hotel itself is located in an ancient building. Hotel offers excellent breakfast with the...More
I'm writing this review whilst still on our trip,as we feel disappointed.
First start with the pro's:
- the hotel is in a great location,
Easy access to everything. Shops and restaurants on the door step.
- staff are friendly and helpful
- the noise...More
After checking in the staff at reception remembered our name and room number every time we went back for the key. The staff were friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them (even getting more tissues for the cold ridden American in...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We are used to having a porter meet us. In this case we didnt and we dragged the luggage ourselves through the square. It was not that fun. So I suggest you call the hotel and book a private taxi pickup with porter to and from the dock. The private taxi was easy to get ,it was around 60 euros.Of course you wont have to worry about that if take care of it in advance. So start with the hotel.Marina and David were especially helpful. Ask if you need more info from me.
On the departure we were smart enough to get a pick up service. The guy came to the hotel and escorted us to the water taxi , which was really close. And he stayed with us untill we checked in,THIS WAS REALLY GREAT,I DONT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD HAVE DONE .YES IN CAPS.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO TO THE AIRPORT ON YOUR OWN.

Hi airport to hotel is easy and cheep. Take the river bus from the docks at the airport to st marks square. Cost €15 per person and takes 45 mins. Then the hotel is on the other side of the square, a 5 min walk. Please read my review for more detail on this. Sorry unable answer the second part of your question regarding cruise docks. Lastly river bus runs every 30 mins during the day.
