Nice hotel, situated in an ideal place facing the canal. Near train station; Nice to sit out in the open, just outside the hotel.
The service is not up to world standards; The breakfast was poor; Only one person was there to help during breakfast....More
This property is off the beaten path, 60 metres from the Grand Canal. Nicely tucked away from the hustle of all the tourists. It's location gives access to all sites along the many canals and is within walking distant of all major attractions.
This hotel was great, the location was great too, just situated up an clean alley on a little side street, close to buses, trains, water taxis and gondolas, the rooms were nice, air conditioned with it's own bathroom, the rooms were cleaned and beds made...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

The Hotel is quite nice, but a little hard to find (especially in the dark). Google Map it before you go and know that the little street you need to go down is REALLY little. They have an awesome breakfast! Lucky you going to Venice : )
The hotel are open 24h, the gate in the "shortway to grand canal" closed around 10pm but just need to walk around (also a better street in the night!) to reach the hotel entrance anytime. It's easy and safe.
