We emailed the hotel before traveling and asked for the best way to get to the hotel and they emailed me back right away. We took the water bus from the airport (Orange line) to Rialto bridge which took around 50 minutes it stops at stop A and then you walk straight up a little street facing and you can...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The location is perfect- 5 min walk to Rialto bridge, 3-4 min to San Marco square. The staff was excellent- very professional, friendly and helpful ( my luggage was lost and they tried to help as much as they could to get it on time). Thank you guys :) The breakfast- excellent-...

Great location near St Mark's Square and all main attractions. Helpful, courteous staff. My double room was very spacious and decorated in the Venetian style. Many choices in the breakfast buffet but very cramped and busy breakfast sessions. Great choice for busy sight-seeing visit.

3 minutes walk from Rialto ferry and 5 minutes to St Marc's Square. Fantastic reception staff. Lift to rooms which were excellent, clean and comfortable. So quiet at night. More than adequate breakfast to set you up for the day. Will definitely be back.

What an amazing location, the Gorizia is 1/2 way between St Mark`s Sq and the Rialto Bridge so perfect for sightseeing. The reception staff are very helpful and booked us tickets for a Vivaldi concert. Our room had 2 amazing chandeliers and hand painted furniture and was a good size. OK the shower was small but adequate but the bathroom...

The location of this hotel is excellent for the center of Venice. Yes, we got lost finding it, but is all part of going to the city. All the staff were excellent, polite and helpful, and as we had to leave early on the last day, got us a bag of Breakfast goodies to take with us. Our room, was...

The hotel is in the heart of Venice only a 5min walk away from st marks square and all the top attractions! The actual hotel is slightly dated however our room was clean and tidy. The only problem we had was the shower door being broken but we didn't have time to talk to management as this happened towards the...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
