Hotel Florida provided me and my husband a nice stay in Venice. I've booked my reservation paying in advance to get better rates, and I definitely don't regret it. The hotel is really close to the bus stop, and on foot it's rather easy to...More
Location was great but the beds were pretty hard. We got a great rate on a room that slept four. I really loved the bathroom with its huge deep tub. Wifi worked great to Skype and was free. Breakfast is simple but free. Place is...More
Basic needs supplied in this Hotel. Friendly staff, some where to lie your head (although a firm bed). A shower and loo, air conditioning a god send. Although this room was a superior rated room we were disappointed as we felt it was basic. Breakfast...More

First of all, we'd really like to thank you for your review on Tripadvisor.
As per the air conditioning, however, it's not correct that the staff turns it off when the hosts are away. In fact, for economy and eco-sustainability reasons, we equipped some rooms...More
Very friendly staff. Clean room with bath and air condition. Surprisingly good breakfast with fresh fruit, cheese and youghurt. The location, very close to the railway station but off the main street, is perfect too. I will return!
Recommended by a friend, we found the Hotel Florida to be very convenient and comfortable. It is worth it to upgrade to a "superior" room. Our room was fine, but our friends' mattress was not. Maybe they just hadn't gotten a new one in that...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

all the rooms has private ensuite bathroom except one, but you simply have to indicate you do not want ( or want because it's cheaper ) the external bathroom room. In any case it's not to be shared but exclusive use only.

I'm not sure about early check in. We dropped our luggage off on the 2nd floor. ( no elevator) It's basically some shelving behind a curtain. It is not secure but we had no troubles. We took all of our valuables of course. We also made sure that our luggage was locked. It didn't prevent someone from taking the whole bag but just kept someone from going through it.
