#102 of 412 in Venice
Discover in the gothic walls of Palazzo del Doge Marin Falier, the magic atmosphere of old Venice, where art and history are the expression of an incantation. Facing Campo SS.Apostoli, reflected in the waters of a romantic canal, this is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in layers of silk, brocades, damasks and gilt mirrors that echo a Serenissima of long ago, a city of travel and commerce with the entire Orient. The Palazzo del Doge Falier, situated close to Piazza S. Marco and the Rialto Bridge, has been restored with passion and attention to detail. The hotel rooms, fitted with every comfort and elegantly furnished with original antique pieces, separate shower cubicles, hairdryers, satellite TV, a direct telephone line, Internet WI-FI, air conditioning with individual room control, a safe-deposit box, include a CONTINENTAL buffet breakfast. The rich treasures of Venice, together with the elegance, prestige and history of our hotel, will make your stay an unforgettable one.

We visited Venice before our cruise to the Greek islands. This property is like out of a dream! For our family of 4 to stay in a 500 year old mansion on a canal was amazing. Very few hotels on canals had family rooms, ours was small but charming. The decor, cleanliness, breakfast and attention to detail was stellar. The best representative of the hotel and service was the manager Marina. She made any perceived travel difficulty vanish by personally attending to, from arranging water transfers very early in the morning, having bagged breakfasts ready for us and answering every touristy question we had. We had a lovely time, and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here, very convenient location 5 minutes to the Rialto bridge, and 15 minutes to St Mark's Square. our room was comfortable and the hotel was easy to find using public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful. If I had to criticise I would say breakfasts were not great but plenty of bars and restaurants close by, toiletries provided a little sparse so make sure you bring your own!

This hotel is well located in a beautiful part of Venice. It is about a 30 minute walk from the rail station or you can take the frequent ACTV Vaporetto number 1 ferry bus to the Ca’ D’Oro stop. From here it is a 3 minute walk to the hotel. Tip: the cost for a single ticket is €7.50 but if you’re planning to spend a day or two in Venice you should purchase the 24, 48 or 72 hour tickets from the kiosk or vending machine. It’ll come handy for exploring Venice. The hotel is small but stylish, our room was clean and had all we needed. We chose a canal view room which overlooked the bridge outside the hotel. You are surrounded by tourists, restaurants and the buzz of Venice. The staff were friendly and attentive. As is the case with Venice, you’ll be climbing a lot of steps and this hotel has two flights of stairs to reception, however there did seem to be a stairlift for anyone requiring it. Breakfast is served from 7.30am.

I am very Disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel. After walking, what was said a 10 minute walk from the Orange line. Was an hour walk Up and down Hundreds of stairs. With Luggage and nearly 70yrs. Old we should have been advised of the difficult journey. The man checking us in was Wonderful and Helpful. From that day forward, the staff was very cold and unhelpful. We paid for a superior room with river view. That did not happen. The small refrigerator was barely stocked. Stairs… stairs.. stairs.. this Hotel is like a Maze! Most questions to staff were, “I don’t know “. No modern amities. No USB plugs. Very Small Bathroom. 4 hangers for the Closet. I noticed at the end of the Reviews.. excuses for the Poor Hotel Services. I would love to move to a most appropriate Hotel. This Hotel is Very very over priced for what the offer. Or should I say, Don’t offer! Disappointed

Excellent location, very comfy bed, great view out of our "deluxe canal view" room windows and also from the breakfast room. Yes it was a bit noisy in the evening but that's what you expect from a hotel right on the main tourist thoroughfare, and closing the shutters blocked most of it out (I wonder if other reviewers who complained figured out how to close the shutters?). Highly recommend getting a water taxi to/from the airport. It's quite expensive at €130 each way, but you can't beat getting out of the taxi at the dock right in front of the hotel.

Absolutely beautiful place in very central location. The rooms are stunning, and the recepcionists are very helpful and nice. The rooms are clean and elegant. It's a very fine high end, especially the superior rooms. The only thing I would probably improve is the toiletries and the breakfast choice is a bit limited but the service is perfect.

Antico Doge is a very elegant place. Our room (deluxe) was spacious and elegant. Staff is friendly and helpful. Although in the middle of Venice even a quiet place at night. Only negative point is that breakfast buffet should have more choice.

The best thing about this hotel is the fantastic location. Room was comfortable and decent bathroom. It was grate value too. Staff were very friendly and gave us a map and lots of recommendations and help. Breakfast was average (at best). Overall for a mid-range hotel at the price we paid we were delighted and would highly recommend.

Picture postcard setting. Super friendly staff and very comfortable. The decoration and attention to detail in the rooms was of a high standard. Felt like a lot more than three stars. Very busy outside but all is peace and tranquility inside. The path and bridge outside were thronged with tourists so it was a relief to step in.

Dear guest, Thankyou for your positive feedback, it is very important to us. We are located near Rialto, so during carnival and high season there are a lot of people that walk arount the property, as in whole Venice. we were very pleased with your appreciation for our historical building, we hope to welcome you again in the future. We stayed here for 4 nights in November on our arrival we were shown to a small double room which was not what we had booked the staff at check in soon sorted it out. The hotel was in a excellent spot with plenty of bars and restaurants close by with a restaurant attached to the hotel itself serving good food. Very central to all attractions with water buses within 5 min walk from the hotel. Hotel was clean and rooms were spacious with a nice comfy bed, a selection of tea, coffee milk and sugar in the room would be a plus, but instead we had to grab it from breakfast ready for the morning.... Bathroom had a good shower and also very clean...staff were polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was not so good with very limited choice. Very quiet neibourhood with lots of shops and bars within a short walk.. Only a short stroll to Rialto bridge.... all in all we had a great stay and would return..... I would recommend an upgrade to the canal view....
