Hotel Flora is down a tiny alley within 5 minutes walk of St Mark's Square and Giglio vaporetto stop, so it is perfectly located for exploring everything Venice has to offer. The beds are very comfortable and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts cater for pretty much all tastes.

This jewel is located in the center of venice, but in a quite street branching away from the main route. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast menu is really nice. It was too early in the year to enjoy the breakfast in the garden.

Hotel Flora is from my perspective the best hotel of Venice because of the great service, the intimity and the location (quiet but central). The bar keeper is especially amazing and also the breakfast presentation.

Above all the reception helped to check us on our home flight. Lufthansa had problems with online checking, but thanks to the hotel we had printed documents with us to the airport! Grazie mille ! Breakfast was very good , there was everything from scrambled eggs to pannacotta, so that even a hungry teenager could eat enough. The room was...

I have been to Venice many times over the past 30 years, and have stayed at a variety of hotels, which largely have been o.k. But the front desk staff at all of them have been your typical world-weary, cynical Italian hoteliers who by and large go through the motions of hospitality. I had known about Hotel Flora for many...

Hotel Flora is a very nice experience, a bit old fashioned in the most pleasant way. If you appreciate datils like pottery, glass lamps and stone flooring you are going to enjoy this place a lot. And the breakfast is a proper delight.

Air conditioning is perfect, plenty of hot water comes out, it was very comfortable. Also very nice communication, enjoyable breakfast!

I spent 10 days at the Hotel Flora. Excellent hotel in a every respect. It is located in the very heart of Venice from which you can reach Piazza S. Marco or Gran Teatro La Fenice or the waterbus stop S.Marco Vallaresso within literally 5-10 min walk. Service in the hotel is great and concierge are excellent. The room with...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
