A great location in Venice, near to bars, restaurants and stores; but the best is that is just a few meters from San Marks square. The hotel is very clean and has the city spirit in its decoration and details.

Nice people. Breakfast as expected. Located on a good spot in Venice to have a walk in the evening and enjoy the atmosphere. Overall nothing to complain about this hotel. Good value for the money overall.

Having read some of the reviews on this site I did wonder what we would find. I need not have worried, what we found was a delightfully quirky hotel. It isn't a faceless corporate hotel but it's clean and safe. The hotel used to be a convent in the dim and distant past which has cleverly been converted to a...

My husband and I went away for a romantic weekend without the children and ended up staying in a worse hotel room than we live at home. We where given a twin room which was a joke as it had 2 very small single beds back to back not enough room to swing a cat in . We where very...

Venice is the 3rd stop on our trip in Italy. Generally speaking, 3 star in Italy isn't great. But this is well below the norm. The rooms are tiny. My wife and I with our baggage could barely fit. There is one plug point for cellphones, laptops, tablets, hair dryers. TOWELS ARE CHANGED ONCE EVERY 3 DAYS AND IT SEEMS...

The Bridge hotel is a very old building and therefore quirky. On first impressions ,it is clean with good decor.. The staff are friendly, for Italians! The breakfast is basic , but acceptable. Our room was number 12. The hotel is laid out over two floors, first and third, with the second being private accommodation. This means that to reach...

Right so, it was all by luck. Me and husband chose this hotel! Its literally in the town centre, 5 minutes to main attractions, square and a few minutes walk from santa maria station. Staff was really nice, small hotel too but at the end of the day we only used it to sleep in. 100% would recommend this hotel...

Stayed here while in venice. Identified through another website. It is a wall from the train or ferry terminal but once there, everything you is need is near by, including supermarket, restaurants and shopping. Friendly and helpful staff with the reception manned 24 hours. You are also required to hand in the key each time when heading out. The room...

I and a friend stayed here for two nights. We came to Venice in search of sights and to try the local cuisine (pizza) and beers. This hotel is perfectly located (although it took us four hours to find due to no fault of the hotel) after getting off the boat at San Marco, providing you follow the right directions/know...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
