Very easy to get to from airport or railway station by boat. Boats from both arrival points stop a 10 minute walk away with no bridges to climb. The hotel room we had was unusual in shape, being more of a galley than a room. The twin beds were head to head but they were comfy and the room was...

So happy with this hotel. Flew in from Paris late and our other hotel we were staying at couldn't accomodate us early. So we picked this place. Rooms were clean, bathroom spacious. Staff friendly. Windows closed well to cut out alley noise, but then it's not that noisy at all hours of the night like Paris. Paid breakfast but i...

This was a beautiful historical building. The room was tastefully done and very clean. Very convenient location once we found it!!! The street was very narrow and quiet. Breakfast was not included in our room and it cost E7 but was very good. The coffee was wonderful. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful. Would stay again!

Hotel was clean, staff friendly, good breakfast. Appeared to have been remodeled and modernized in the recent past. Location was absolutely wonderful in terms of St Marks Square and the Grand Cannel. Be aware that there is no elevator and all rooms are above ground level with the second level being more like a third floor only accessible by ascending...

Concierge staff who I believe is the owner of the hotel is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and well-decorated. Had a pleasant 2 nights stay in this hotel. The hotel has a superb location which is about 3 mins walk from st mark's square and 10mins from the Rialto line. Definitely value for money.

Hotel Bridge is located just a few minutes walk from the airport river taxis drop off point and quite easy to find. My sister and I arrived early and were told that our room was not quite ready but that we could leave our luggage and come back in an hour. That was good as we were able to walk...

I spent 1 night with friends in this hotel. It's just to San Marco square. Staff was really helpful. Francesca suggested us a trip to the islands of Venice which was wonderful. The breakfast is nice. Rooms are with venetian style. Is's really good for a small hotel in Venice

The hotel is a very quick walk from St Mark's square and main attractions, and the walk takes you over a canal where you have a great view of the bridge of sighs, into the grand canal. Also close to lots of restaurants- right next door, right across the narrow street, and around the corner. Room was small, but still...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
