Staff here is very accommodating. We arrived to a room with two light bulbs burned out and they were replaced immediately. Breakfast included a little bit of everything and was quite tasty, especially the coffee. Our room is small but big enough for two to move around. The shower is very small making it difficult to scrub, shave and wash...

We got this hotel as part of a package and it lived up to all the other places we stayed. We asked for a king and got two twins that were almost pushed together. The room was decorated like my grandma's guest room with a tiny screen near the ceiling. It had what we guessed was a Murano glass chandelier...

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Very suitable base for exploring Venice - near st Mark's Square and designer shops but quiet situation. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Everything about Venice is lovely including this hotel. The rooms are quite cozy, the bathrooms are neat and well maintained. Breakfast was sumptuous and has a lot of variety. The outdoor seating arrangement gives you a nice feel of the city interiors. The location is also near to the centre and ferry terminal.

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this well situated hotel. We received excellent travel directions from reception and they were most helpful throughout. Our room was perfectly adequate with a good shower and although there was some noise from the street below until quite late we could not fault the sleep quality. The cold buffet for breakfast was varied and...

We stayed in this hotel for three days. A good hotel with very convenient location. It has a very beautiful courtyard where we enjoyed having our breakfast. The guest could also relax there in the evening. The staff was very cooperative and helpful. The room was also comfortable and well maintained. We would recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

The front desk staff is amazing, extremely helpful and friendly for anything you need. The hotel is very well kept and clean. Situated on a side street right off the main shopping drag and very close walk to Piazza San Marco and gondola rides. The outside courtyard is lovely to have breakfast in and fantastic coffee. Rooms are basic, really...

This hotel is down a short lane from a main street to San Marco square. We had rooms on the second and third floors. The third floor has been renovated with wood floors and the room was spacious and comfortable. Ask for a room on the courtyard side which has no traffic other than hotel guests. Although there is some...

You would never know this hotel is right beside the most expensive shopping street in Venice because it is tucked away with its own lovely quiet courtyard and the location is convenient for all the classical tourist attractions. The rooms are small but totally adequate. Breakfast is included and consists of a good selection of rolls, croissants, cereals, yogurt, meats,...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
