Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, I had read all kinds of reviews but here is my honest review from a well traveled individual. I had heard the hotel was a nightmare to find but we didn’t think it was that bad, we had flown into Marco pollo airport and bought a return bus fare so decided to walk from the bus terminal to the hotel, it was a nice walk we stopped at a cafe on the way for breakfast which was nice. We soon came to the Rialto bridge and the hotel is a 5 minute walk from here, Google maps led us straight there, it is down some quirky back streets but we remembered where it was and didn’t get lost again. So we checked in, we paid €14 cash for the room tax for the two nights. So on arrival take a photo of the Wi-Fi password and door code which is on the desk so if you get back late you can just let yourself in. You are given a big heavy key for your room just hand it in when you go out. The room was clean and Venetian style, 2 single beds pushed together, dressing table, large mirror and wardrobe. In the wardrobe there was a mini fridge and safe but we didn’t use these. The en-suite had a jacuzzi bath, toilet, sink and soap, shower gel was provided. There was a tv on the wall and consisted of Italian Channels, I don’t come to a city like Venice to sit in a room and watch tv so didn’t bother me. Breakfast was included and this is located on the 3rd floor, smallish room which also has an outdoor terrace. I’m presuming this room may also be a bar in the evening as there was alcohol behind the counter. So the breakfast is continental and consisted of bread, croissants, cereal, yogurt, meats, cheese, juices and there were jam and chocolate spread and you could order coffee. Basic breakfast but everything is fresh and puts you on until lunch time. So in Venice you are not gong to find modern hotels with modern furnishings, most are vintage Venetian at their best and this adds to the charm and character of Venice. The staff on the front desk were polite as was the lady at breakfast. The location is great, just 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge and if you go the other way it’s 5 minutes walk to st marks square. You also have lots of shopping on your door step and there are so many bars and restaurants about, you can do Venice on a budget as there are lots of little cheap bakery’s or pasta/pizza shops. We were out in restaurants both nights, for a 2 course meal with drinks and wine you are looking at around €80 for 2. It is walkable if you are capable and it’s great just exploring and looking around. Remember there are lots of bridges where ever you go. We just took a backpack so we didn’t have any issues. It is also worth buying the actv travel pass whist you are there, this gets you on the bus from the airport and vapereto around the city and we also used it to go to burano for lunch. You will love Venice x

I booked our stay on booking.com. The booking went smoothly. Communication with the hotel about our arrival time was easy. The location is great for using San Marco square as a reference point. The vaporeto stops near by and made it relatively easy to get to the hotel. I say “relatively “ because no matter where you are—unless you’ve booked a hotel on the canal—you WILL drag your bags over rough streets and a long way! That’s just Venice. The hotel room was basic and had what we needed, including a hair dryer. The included breakfast was basic: yogurt, muesli, croissants, meats, cheese. The coffee was good and made fresh. The bed was comfortable, shower pressure was excellent, and the hotel has an elevator. The hotel entrance is around the corner from the sign in the photo below.

Location of this hotel was excellent, close to San Marco and all the attractions plus shopping. The hotel offered great value for money as it was very resonably priced, having booked two rooms we had no complaints on this hotel at all. Staff were pleasant enough, the lady at breakfast was lovely, very cheerful and couldn’t do enough. The hotel and rooms were to a clean standard, comfortable with working air conditioning, we did not use the WiFi. The property was a little challenging to find at the start but that only adds to the charm of Venice. We book this hotel in a hurry as Venice was booking up fast for our planned dates, then read the reviews and we were quite worried. However, I can honestly say we had no complaints with this hotel . This is not a 5 start hotel and it does not try to give the impression that it is, rooms are expensive in Venice and you get what you pay for, we were a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children and required 2 rooms. I can honestly say we could have all slept in one of the roomes it wascertainly big enough. we only stayed one night and this was aperfect spot. We did not watch TV or use the internet instead we used this as a base to explore and enjoy all tha Venice had to offer and would definitely stay here again when visiting Venice.

Lovely little hotel in the heart of San Marco. The hotel ia a 2 minute walk from St Mark’s Square and an easy base for getting around Venice. Room was adequate and comfortable, the bonus was having a small fridge to store water etc. Breakfast was simple, fruit juice, coffe, yoghurt and a selection of breads and croissant served to your table, enough to start ypur day.

We had reservation confirmed by the hotel, we even had a short communication how to get there. We reserved the room through Booking.com and chose to pay at the property. Then on the arrival day, right before our plane took off they tried to charge our card which wasn't successful. We wrote immediately that in 3 hours we arrive and we pay at the property as confirmed. By the time we landed, they cancelled our reservation. Never have had this experience with any hotels. But reading the reviews here, we may be lucky to avoid this place.

It was the worst stay we ever had! They checked us in in totally different property, rooms was looking different, very dirty, with bag in the bed. When we went to front desk and start to complain he said I’m sorry., I can give you a new bedsheets… we didn’t have other choice than took all our stuff and in the middle of night look for some other place to stay. Don’t recommend all there places!!!!

Price quality ratio is not valid. It was very difficult to find the entrance of the Hotel. There was no signage to draw attention to the entrance. Staff wasn't kind and helpful. And in the middle of the night staff dragged laundry bags to the elevator, so I woke up and after a while had to warn the staff to be quiet... Wifi connection was also bad.

Having read the trip advisor reviews for this hotel after booking I was a little concerned but did not need to worry. Factual Hotel is a little difficult to find initially being behind a restaurant on a courtyard, but this is Venice! Room was clean, and was quiet Excellent location a few minutes walk from St Marks Sq and probably 5-10 minutes from Rialto bridge A fantastic base Simple ‘after hours’ door code to let yourself in after 10pm Buffet breakfast included in price Subjective This is not a Venetian palace overlooking the grand canal and price is reflective of that Do not expect ‘over the top’ American style customer service, it’s not the local way! Based on value for money relative to everything else driving the tourism economy in Venice I found this hotel to be well situated, and fantastic value for money. If you are looking for a base in central Venice near the sights would recommend, if you are coming to sit in your room for significant amount of time admiring the views then possibly not Based on price point and my experience would happily recommend

We spent 3 nights in Venice, we arrived at night, finally found our hotel with the help of 2 local police officers 🙈, Città di Milano is a 5 minute walk from Rialto water bus stop, but its difficult to find at night, using our google maps we planned the quickest route to our hotel, we didn’t take into account signal loss due to the proximity of the buildings, we walked in circles for 45 mins when the lovely local bobbies came to our rescue, they actually escorted us to the front door 😂, relieved we were finally at Città di Milano, however the first room we were allocated was tiny (227) and no air con, Marco on reception was great he moved us to room 333 the next morning, Thank you Marco 👍, this hotel is quite basic but perfectly located, so take a leap of faith folks, you won’t regret it!!! 2 mins from St Marks Square, breakfast was enjoyable, simple continental and perfectly adequate, coffee was delicious, staff are friendly so ignore the negative reviews they work hard at this hotel and customer service is genuine. Advice to management-meet guests at the Rialto when they arrive at night time and make better use of the roof terrace for guests to have a nightcap before bed. The weather at the end of September is perfect, bring mosquito repellent you will need it. We had a great time and Venice is beautiful. Thank you Città di Milano.
