Right next to vaporeto stop, 300 meters from San Marco square, its location can be considered ideal. Not spacious rooms, but that's Venice. Very nice decoration and clean rooms. Bathroom was very small, hardly fit in the shower cabin. breakfast was nice and service and staff very friendly, willing to give you all the info you are gonna ask for....

As the previous review mentions the hotel is situated near the Santa Maria del Giglio waterbus stop. At Marco Polo airport take the orange line Alilaguna waterbus (takes about 40mins and costs 15 euros each) which stops at Santa Maria del Giglio stop, then it’s a short walk to the Campo Santa Maria del Giglio. This is perfect location for...

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel and was very pleased with it. . The hotel is easy to find as it is not far from the Santa Maria del Giglio waterbus stop. We stayed at the Bel Sito in late April and can highly recommend it. Our first time in Venice and we absolutely loved the city. The hotel certainly ticked all the boxes in terms of location, very nice rooms and friendly, helpful staff. We were a party of five and booked direct as, with my Mum celebrating her 80th birthday...

Dear Guest, we are waiting for a faster wi-fi line and next time we will reserve for you a room overlooking the Church of Santa Maria del Giglio, so, in the room, there won't be any smell created from the low tide on the canal, Wish you all the best. Rossella

Staying in the center of Venice surrounded by canals is always an expensive choice. Venice Mestre is more reasonable but requires a daily vaporetto round trip of $7€ each way per person and/or long walks to major attractions. The hotel Bel Sito et Berlino is Located in Campo St. Maria del Giggulo-- the perfect locale. If desired you can have...

Our room was good but not large. It was fine for a three night stay, but with limited hanging space and no drawer space at all. which meant living out of a suitcase, it would have been tiresome for a longer period. The bathroom again was compact but nice. The staff were mostly friendly although the greeting we received seemed...

I had a long thought process before booking this hotel because some of the negative comments particularly about the reception people and small bathrooms were really worrying me..so do you have a different thoughts? Probably NO! However, I have to admit that we did get answers to all our questions and inquiries but manner and attidues were not really great....

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
