B&b's cozy, warm in winter. It's a bit hard to find, but it's the same for all Venice. It's very close to train station. The rooms are spacious. I liked it. Only one disadvantage that staff don't answer any e-mails. I thinks it's more than the best that you can find for this price.

I booked this hotel for my honeymoon in March this year and it turned out to be a horrible property. it is a hard to find place. too many stairs andyou have to drag your luggage on your own to reach up. the guy at the reception was very rude. we asked him to change our room to same room...

To start out with, this place was very hard to find. After going around in circles we found it and we had to go up many stairs that are inconvenient for people who are traveling and have luggage with them. We finally see people and they don't even great us. I had to ask "is this the hotel?" to the...

We stayed here a few weekends ago, great location & easy to find. Room was nice although needs a full length mirror. Few nice local restaurants nearby too. Able to store bags there until our flight which was a bonus too.

This is difficult to describe - very oldie worldie. Rooms were fine although our friends, s had trouble with shower rose. Thankfully friends were already here and met us from the train. No lifts of course so lugging cases upstairs not ideal. Breakfast was ok. Position was good and plenty of food places etc just out on the street. Not...

This is a very difficult place to describe, as it's not really a hotel and not really a B&B. It's something in the middle. A mixture of quirkiness and messiness, a mixture of charm and sloppiness. Firstly, the room (no.25) was excellent, with an amazingly quiet and green view (rare for Venice) to the back of the property. It was...

After returning from Venice this evening I feel I have to make other travelers aware of this hotel! A small oldie wordie building in a quiet alleyway of a busy street, a short walk from a vaperetti stop (guigle) with shops cafes and restaurants on your doorstop. We arrived late at night so rang the bell and another guest must...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
