We highly recommend Residenza de l'Osmarin for its ideal location (5 min to St. Mark's Sq.), comfortable apartment style accommodation and warm hospitality. Perfect for our family of four. Marie Elisabetta was an amazing hostess who really made us feel at home. We would stay...More
We stayed here for three nights after a cruise. Everything was perfect. Location is close to the popular sites, but far enough away to offer some peace and quiet. The apartment was spotless. Free wifi was excellent as well as the continental breakfast. I would...More
My family (2 teenagers, husband and I) stayed in the top floor rooms with terrace in June 2016. We loved the location, convenient to a main stop for the water taxis, walking distance to the palace, wonderful restaurants, etc. The people were very friendly, provided...More
Lovely big rooms and clean bathrooms in beautiful old house. I was traveling by myself and everyone who worked there was so kind to me and helped me find my way around and practice my Italian. I felt so at home.
Warm welcoming hosts, 50 m2 of room with a terrace in Venice, great view from terrace by a channel, adequate enough breakfast, close to piazza San Marco, Rialto bridge, vaporetto. I will highly recommend the place.
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

We (husband/wife/1 teenager) were on the 2nd floor (one above the breakfast room) and had what seemed like an apartment to ourselves -- two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette/dining/lounge room. We heard a little bit of foot noise from the apartment above one night, but generally it was extremely quiet. Being the middle of winter, there was no street noise whatsoever. Check with the owners about your concerns, but there should be plenty of room for the kids with little impact on other guests. We travelled from the international airport via the alilaguna. It was about a 200m walk to the residenza with our (rather large) wheeled cases and we managed just fine. There is a review on here somewhere with excellent directions, worth looking for. You can't go wrong staying here!
