Such a great location in San Polo meant that everything was well within walking distance, just a few minutes from the Rialto and lovely, traditional, spacious rooms. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend as a great central location and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Some fabulous Osteries right on the doorstep too.

Stayed 2 days in May 2015. Ideal location for us as quiet location but just a few yards to busier streets. Desk staff very helpful. Room and shower room were a good size for a central Venice location where space is obviously at a premium and also very clean. Fortunately our room (Canaletto) looked out down above a narrow walkway...

Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who assisted us with our luggage up the stairs. There is no lift, but that's to be expected-it's Europe after all. There is a very simple continental breakfast with not a lot of variety, but they do offer strong coffee which was comforting. The situation of the hotel is close to...

The stay was very comfortable. The important landmarks and water boat station are close by. The room was spacious with beautiful rich decor. For the amount paid, it was worth. We were two couple and shared the suite with adjoining rooms and a shared bathroom.. Nearest landmark is Rialto bridge so that market and restaurants are near by. The breakfast...

Two friends shared the suite with adjoining rooms and one shared bathroom. Rooms were spacious if a little sparsely furnished. Bathroom was small but functional and the beds were comfortable. The location is great with the guest house well positioned for the Rialto Bridge and easy walking distance to everything of interest in central Venice. Plenty of nice local restaurants...

The hotel is nicely central, an easy walk or quick Vaporetto trip from the Rialto bridge, but in a quiet side passage with a picturesque private pier. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even provided gluten-free crispbread for my young celiac daughter at breakfast -- maybe not as enticing as the regular bread and croissants, but it was nice...

I stayed here with 2 friends and we had 2 big rooms with a washroom. The place is very clean and has friendly staff. The rooms have a good view and the beds were comfortable. It's very close to the Rialto Bridge and easily accessible by the the water bus. The breakfast is included in the price and is quite...

The directions the hotel sent us worked out fine in regard to finding the hotel. But there is a Vaporetto stop closer to the hotel, Silvestro instead of Rialto Merchado. We had a room with a view down a alleyway which went to the Grand Canel. There was a private dock thee is you wanted to use a private water...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
