I got lost for 2 hours trying to find this hostel, the directions are absolutely shocking that they give you on the website. I asked 2 police officers, and went into 3 different hotels to ask for directions to this hostel and I still couldn't...More
It's hard to compare this hostel to others in Venice cause it's the only one I stayed in. The pros like so many other reviews say are the location and "cheap" price. The location is really nice though, I'd say you have to walk 10...More
I've literally never stayed somewhere so awful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I would say we are pretty tolerable when it comes to hostels but this was another level. Dirty, smelly, damp. Linen stained and horrific apartment. We actually dreaded coming back after a day out...More
We stayed here for 4 nights during the Biennial, and the pictures were different to the room we actually stayed in. Firstly, we had to pay a 10EURO late fee as we arrived after 9pm. The owner was rude and not very accommodating during the...More
By the time I visited Venice, it was the best option in terms of location and price I've found. The staff was really kind and I got lucky, because the bedroom I got with my friend just had us two. The location is not that...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
Does anyone have a contact email address for the reception at Ca' Venezia? I booked a room via Hostelworld last night, and did not receive a confirmation email (from either party). However, I noticed the deposit has been posted in my bank account.
