Room was very clean. Hotel staff spoke English and were very helpful. Great location. Breakfast provided several options. We would come back and stay here again. The restaurant next to the hotel was very good.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendlylet us check in when we arrived 4 hours early and left our bags there once we checked out as we had svereal hours to kill before flying home. The hotel is in an excellent location right to see the sights but not noisy at night. It was very clean and tidy,...

I was visiting Venice with my adult children recently and we couldn't have been more pleased with this property. Based on another recent review, American tourists need to adjust their expectations. Venice is an ancient city full of history and charm. Hotels are old as well which is part of the charm and rooms are usually small by American standards....

I'm not sure why there are so many wonderful reviews for this place but they were deceiving enough for us to stay here for one night. We were grateful it was only one night. I cannot explain the creepy feeling throughout the hotel, which, honestly, should not be called a hotel. We felt as if we were walking into a...

The best thing about that hotel is the receptionist Monica, she is very friendly and helpful. Others were helpful too as after we complain about the small size of the room they give us another room the next night which was lil bigger. In general, the hotel rooms are small with old furniture, no fridge or minibar, small tv. The...

Superb small hotel, in superb location- 3 minutes from St Marks Square. Excellent breakfast, very comfortable, clean and warm room. Lovely staff, cheapest beer was at the hotel. Would definitely stay here again if back in Venice. It was perfect, the rose petals and prosecco on arrival, canal view room- was brilliant. Thank You

Just left this lovely hotel. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to St. Marks Square and we were always greeted with a smile. The room fit five of us comfortably and the windows opened up into the alley below so I just people watched for a bit. The sounds of people eating, working, and living drift through the windows...

This is a really great hotel! I had a spacious room with a lovely bathroom. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was included in my room rate and it was excellent considering I had requested a gluten free breakfast- plenty of choices! The price was excellent value for what I received. The wifi worked very well, for those...

We had a long journey from singapore to munich and finally venezia before reaching the hotel. Tired, cold and was hoping to get a nice warm welcome. Upon reaching the hotel, the staff just looked at us without smiling and we didn't feel welcome. Luckily we only stayed there for a night. Throughout the stay the staff were really unwelcoming....

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
