Recommended. Our stay in this hotel was fantastic. The hotel is really nice, close to a vaporetto station, the staff was so helpful with us. Cozy, spacious and clean rooms, delicious breakfast. I think there wouldn't be a better place to stay in Venice.

The hotel is located in the dorsoduro district and a ten minute (with suitcases) walk from the Zattere water bus station. We took the blue alilaguna line from the airport and walked from there to the hotel. The hotel might be a little difficult to find if you haven't done your research before arriving, but we had printed a google... More

We stayed here for four nights in mid-October, and enjoyed our stay. The location was great, just past the Guggenheim museum, and a five minute walk to the academia bridge and you're into the San Marco district. It's also close to some decent restaurants and bars in the Dorsoduro district. The room was an okay size, shower was a little... More

Excellent location, just 3 minutes walk from San Marco, but rather difficult to find without a map. It is great they give you the keys, so you may return whenever you like. The breakfast was good, as well as the service lady. We stayed in Kazanova room with private bath. As it is right on the top, under the roof,... More

For the location alone, this hotel deserves a 5 star review, but there are a few things that could be improved, hence the 4* rating. I can't really understand why people would pay a small fortune to stay in a very flash hotel with a wonderful room and amazing facilities when in Venice, to be honest. If you've any sense... More

The location is easy to get to Vaporetto stops at Salute or Academia but there is not much around the hotel. It is quiet but if you want a quick coffee or snack you have to walk all the way back to academia. The room was ok in size. Except the space on the side of the bed was tiny...hard... More

Location is very good. Not in a busy area but close enough walking distance to all the main attractions. Room was quite small but fine for 3 nights. Stairs are quite narrow and no lift so possibly not ideal for elderly people. Room was clean and tidy, breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for a short... More

Locanda Ca Zose was the perfect choice for us away from the bustle of St Mark's but within easy walking distance to everything. Close to Zattare water bus stop. Attentive and warm staff. We arrived early morning from our cruise and were able to leave our bags and explore and even take the Doge's palace secret tour before our 1pm... More

The staff is nice, but Wi-Fi was bad, the bathroom had mold all over the wall, and finally when we checked out and asked to use the "lobby" bathroom the reception told us that it is not in use. I don't know how a 3 stars hotel does not have a bathroom for guests. You might find better hotel for... More

I stayed here for two nights with my husband. It was in a great location so very easy to explore the city. Our room was a decent size and had air con and was clean with a nice if not small bathroom. The dining area was tiny and if every table was occupied there was not much room, however the... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
