Palazzo Guardi is a lovely Venetian experience. Tucked away on a quiet lane about a 1 minute walk from the Accademia Bridge, Palazzo Guardi is a little piece of Venice at a very reasonable price. We booked the suite which accommodated the 4 of us (1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed) for 160 euro per night which we...

My family and I spent two wonderful nights at this hotel shortly before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The location is excellent and within walking distance of most sights in Venice. The room (for four) was large and overlooking a canal. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was also very good. For a South African on...

Palazzo Guardi was the best hotel among those we stayed at in Europe. Our room was in the annexe, canal facing and very well furnished in classic Venetian style. Excellent value for money, spacious, clean and with a large bathroom. We stayed here in winter and the room had its own thermostat, nice and warm. Great location with easy access...

Our stay at the Palazzo Guardi was perfect. We just came back from 3 nights in the Frari suite in the second building, and it was like we had our own palazzo. I must have mentioned in an early e-mail inquiring about a room that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary while we were in Venice. When we got...

We stayed in room #2 right next to reception, and the view was spectacular. Couldn't see the canals, but the neighboring balconies and rooftops were more than enough. This was the only hotel with a full bathtub on our trip (what a luxury!), and the room was beautifully furnished. Breakfast was filling (cereal, breads, jams, juices), and the location was...

I have been in the upper suite at 4th floor. very cozy and nice room, spacious under roof bathroom with large angled bathtub.A big plus of this room is the private wooden over roof terrace with a table for 6 and a wonderful view over the venitian roofs and churches. A very rarity for Venice. An excellent value for money paid .Nice...

Palazzo Guardi is a 3-star hotel in Venice that is located in an excellent location close to two water bus locations. We found the location super convenient and close to many restaurants and the Peggy Guggenheim museum. We booked a junior suite overlooking a picturesque canal. The room was spacious and well appointed with a desk, plus a small round...

We easily found the hotel, after reading reviews from others. Yes, that alley on the first left is really Calle del Pistor! Our room, number 30, was large, very clean and beautiful, with shiny hardwood floors and beautiful marble and decorative tiles in the large bathroom. We stayed in the Annex, at number 1014, in a corner room, with windows...

Hotel is not so hard to find if you follow the direction from hotel or check the previous reviewers' comments. It is clean and quite. The breakfast is not great, but, hotel in Venice is very expensive. You got what you paid for. The bathroom and bedding are clean and neat. We were in the room opposite the reception and...

Palazzo Guardi exceeded our expectations. Most of the other hotels in this price range were outside Venice and as we wanted to be in Venice and not pay a fortune, so we tried this hotel. The location meant we were very near the Vaparetto and Accademia bridge which meant we were close to everything, yet it was also very quiet...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
