A real ´palazzo´!! Gorgeous spacious rooms that are spotlessly clean, polite excellent service and delicious breakfasts served in a very nice room. All this let us have a wonderful stay in lovely Venice. Since it´s a very old building, there are steep stairs and no lifts. However, we were helped to carry our luggage up to our room. SUPERB!!!

Stayed at Palazzo Odoni for 1 night after a week in Florence. Was very impressed - so cosy and stylish. We had room on top floor with awesome design, fireplace (so cool:)), large bathroom in blue and great view (to other buildings' roofs and courtyard). 10 minutes walk from railway station and 10 minutes walk from Piazza Roma where you...

As a non-flyer, holidays are usually UK based for us - but this year we took the overnight sleeper from Paris to Venice - and the Palazzo Odoni was the perfect final destination. Very frendly service, lovely comfortable room, excellent breakfast. They are very used to people arriving and leaving outside of 'room available' hours and aligned to a train...

Ideally situated close to P. Roma (car parks) and the train station without the inconvenience, it is off the main path to Rialto and S. Marco, the hotel is hidden behind classical venetian doors. The staff is extremely friendly friendly and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is of excellent quality and offers a wide choice of...

Beautiful setting behind a typically unassuming Venetian door. Breakfast is superb with the quality of the fayre as good as any we've had. Comfortable rooms and hotel is easily accessible from the train/bus station whilst still being amongst the beautiful old buildings you'd expect from Venice.

Palzzo Odoni was easy to find from the station. The staff were welcoming and our room for 4 people was divided into 2 rooms. There was enough room for the 4 of us and our luggage. The room was warm, very clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was lovely and provided a lot of variety. Coffee was made freshly for...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
