We did not like our stay at this hotel at all unfortunately. It may be a SLH, but the interior is cheaply finished, the service mediocre and the rooms not worth mentioning. The only positive is the location. There are other and much better options in Venice. Ai Reali is not worth the money.

We parked our car at the airport and chartered the boat taxi to the hotel. Great to arrive at the lobby by riverside. Very nice staff for all... checkin, breakfast and roommaid. The location is perfect cause so close to all. We chartered a boat for 1 hour river sightseeing. So good and we could make lot of great pics....

The Ai Reali is an amazing property with superb staff. We arrived by water taxi direct from the Train station - however, it is close to the Rialto stop of the Vaporatto (though perhaps not easy to find for the newcomer). It is off the crowded path but just down Fava street from the main route between Rialto and St....

very central location in Venice, steps away from St Marco. Modern tasteful castle style. Highest quality, immaculately clean, very friendly. Very nice extras - a bottle of wine in the room, extra cookies for our son in room service. Totally fantastic

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
