The hotel was above our expectations. The decor, the location, it was very clean and the staff were very welcoming. The only thing i didnt like too much was their coffee, but its not a problem since there are many good places for coffee nearby....More
This was our first visit to Venice to celebrate our Silver Wedding. We chose this hotel from TripAdvisor ratings/reviews. We found the hotel to be very clean, the breakfast was excellent, the central location was first class and so convenient for walking the city or...More
We chose the Madonna for its location and canal access as we were arriving by motoscafo. The staff were welcoming and friendly and our room was in a quiet corner accessed across the courtyard. Although quiet small, the room had a large super- king bed...More
We booked this hotel last minute coming from Florence. It was exactly as we hoped/expected.

The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San
Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

There are tons of restaurants in Venice. I asked the hotel I was staying at and they recommended it for me which was close to the hotel over a couple of bridges and it was rated very high with TripAdvisor, let me try to remember the name. It was in the San Polo area in Venice but there were a lot of places. I was told to pick the restaurants that show their menu. The places that do not show the menu beware because it is likely priced very high. Hopefully this helps you. I will try to locate my receipt from this restaurant to see if I still have it.
