Thanks for your comments , the alley is part of what Venice is.
Concerning the breakfast you should have talked to the reception and we would have tried to arrange things differently.
Venice is a maze of alleyways, which can make things hard to find. Ca'Pozzo Inn is only a short walk away from the train station and main waterbus routes but you would never guess - it's hidden away through a small alley and situated in...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

In my opinion, it's very difficult to walk from the hotel to the cruise terminal if you have luggage. The easiest way is to take the vaporetto (line 4.2 and/or 5.2) from the hotel (Guigle) to Piazzala Roma, and then take the People Mover from Piazzala Roma to the cruse terminal. I don't know what is the cost for the single-ride vaporetto since we purchased a two-day pass (30Euros). You can find out at actv website. The cost to ride the People Mover to the cruise terminal was 2.5Euros. Alternatively, if you want to walk, you can walk to the train station, and then take the People Mover. Hope this helps.
