We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Ca' d'Oro for four days recently. She had previously been greatly satisfied by her stay some six years ago. The Hotel is well located in Cannaregio with easy access by vaparetto from the railway station via the Grand Canal or from the airport, as well as being well located to explore Venice....

A lovely hotel in a great location. The hotel is a short walk from the waterbus station. Our room was a deluxe room. It was a good size and very clean. Tea making facilities in room. Breakfast was OK. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is about 10 minute walk to Rialto Bridge and 25 mins to...

We stayed here in March 2017 4 nights and were very happy with this hotel, it's convenient location away from the crowds with fair price. The service was great, they helped with recommendations and they had a great breakfast. The beds were wonderful and the room/bathroom were immaculate. We even had a canal view! They have a wonderful balcony on...

Venice is expensive but the room can cater until four people. Additional two beds had been added for a group of three. Enough wiggle room for all of us to spare and work our way around. The location is just perfect. It is located at a five minute walk from Ca D'oro bus (not actually a bus but a water...

Thank you very much! The blue room is the most favourite one of our guests, but it's impossible to meet all the tastes... Kindest regards

Loved our stay at the Ca' d'Oro, friendly, helpful staff and a beautifully clean, authentic Venetian room. The location is perfect and very calm, everything is in easy walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in beautiful Venice

I took my partner to Venice for her birthday as we had both wanted to visit this amazing city. We stayed at the Hotel Ca d Oro which is a small and friendly hotel. The staff are lovely. Our room was on the third floor and was lovely and clean, but basic (all you need for a short break). The...

We stayed 2 nights here in March. It was our first visit to Venice and thoroughly enjoyed it. However we arrived by train and it is quite a walk from the station. Our room was nice with both a bath and shower. However, the temperature in the room was too hot and we were told by the lady at reception...

This was our first stay in Italy and it was a good start! We reached here from the Airport by the water bus. The stop is a short walk up to the hotel. The only problem is dragging your trolley on the cobbled roads :D But it is pretty close by from all the tourist spots and the Santa Lucia station....

Cosy, nice, clean, tidy hotel in the heart of venezia! Nice rooms, warm in winter, weather was really bad when we visited and it was really nice to come back to warm room & hot shower! Would recommend this hotel. Reason for dropped star. Carpets throughout the hotel need to be renewed, stains and the carpets are faded & worn....

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
