Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

This establishment was very helpful from the moment we booked it. The correspondence kept us in the loop of what to expect and transport to and from the airport if needed. There's different ways of getting to the hotel and depending on how deep your pockets are plus throw in

My room was spacious and had a lovely bathroom with a large shower. The staff were very helpful (especially Luca) with directions, recommendations and bookings for local restaurants. This is a quiet neighbourhood and in the winter is very much off the beaten track. it took me

Hotel Tiziano was our destination after trekking 0.5 miles through waist deep water (i'm 5"5') with our heavy luggage. Upon arriving the staff was friendly and spoke decent English. The staff helped carry our bags to the second floor where our room was. The room was spacious and

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, With reference to Your review, we are glad that You liked the room and that our staff speaks a decent level of English. We are sorry for the noise , our offer for another room was an effort to accommodate You in an alternative sections avoiding the noise . We regret that You did not appreciate our little family run hotel atmosphere in consideration of our tiny venetian spaces , where we serve anyway a complete continental buffet breakfast. Hoping You will change our mind for the next visit in Venice. With Kind Regards.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, we thank You for Your review and for the nice words about our staff. Concerning the high tide please note it is not an event we can control at all. That monday was an exeptional event and that evening all venetian people were stuck in their shops and hotels and restaurantys triyng to check the tide level. Our hotel had some damages and also the other buildings and monuments in the city. Anyway hightide is part of citylife during this period . We hope You will understand this and visit us once more in the future. With Kind Regards..

I highly recommend Osteria Da Codroma (on Fondamenta Briati - a 5 minutes walk from hotel Tiziano). It is famous for its cicheti and seafood - the freshest ever bought daily from the Rialto market. It is very popular with locals and it is advisable to book to eat there in the evening.

We initially wanted to take a water taxi from the airport ,but ultimately the cost and time didn’t seem worth it for us. The quickest way - especially for this hotel - is to take the bus to Piazzale Roma, then walk to the hotel. It’s a 10-15 minute walk from the bus drop off if you don’t get lost. We did take a wrong turn but recovered pretty quickly. We just bought tickets at the airport, not in advance. A lot of people think taking the water taxi is a “must” for its romanticism. I didn’t feel that way. There are plenty of other ways to see the city from the water at lower cost and at a time when you can enjoy it and not be jet lagged or anxious about getting to your hotel.

There are a few locations for the apartments, the larger ones are about 200 meters away as described by Endoftired and just across the courtyard as Wisconsin stated. I was in the one just across the courtyard. Breakfast is served in the hotel only, in a quaint dining area adjacent to the front desk. This was not a problem as it was a few seconds of walk time for me. You might be able to have them deliver breakfast items to your room at an additional charge, but I never bothered to ask because the hotel was so close. The breakfast selection consists of caffe, juices, breakfast rolls, cookies, breads, cereals, meats, cheese, and other items typically associated with an Italian breakfast. There was also a boiler to poach eggs for those who prefer eggs to start their day. I did not use it, but it was nice have the option. Hope this info helps and have a great trip!

It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. It is about an hour from the airport on a water bus. This is not on a main canal, most hotels are not. There are no city buses in this part of Venice. You can take a bus from the airport to the main train station. From there you take a 2 minute trip to Santa Lucia. From Santa Lucia station, you can access water buses or get directions and walk almostvanywhere in under 30 minutes.
