A really nice hotel, in a really good location to explore Venice. The hotel is about three minutes off of the main tourist route around Venice, so benefits from being close, without being noisy or busy outside. Really beneficially that it is close to the train station and taxi drop off points, so easily walkable with luggage. Really nice character to the building, with good decor in the rooms in keeping with the classic style. The chap behind the reception desk was really helpful. The room was slightly small, but to be expected in an older building. No breakfast on offer, but didn't really concern us.

Having stayed at this hotel twice before and enjoyed it we were very disappointed with their new business model. It is really not like a hotel anymore but just rooms (Air B&B style) with an occasional receptionist and lacking normal hotel facilities. Previously, breakfast was available by the canal but, sadly, no more. In addition tea and coffee making facilities were not available in the room or elsewhere at the property. Also, the roof terrace was closed during our stay. No mini-bar but a fridge was available in the room. The rooms are classically decorated with good air con. If you want just a room in a good position near the canal it’s ok.

Very nice Hotel, 10 minutes walk from Venice central Station. Spacious room with high ceiling, traditional venetian furniture and clean bathroom. Very friendly staff. Reception is open only from 09am to 1pm so make sure you arrange your checkin ahead of your arrival.

Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood. Of note for reference: if you book here, make sure you arrive between 9-2…as the front desk closes at 2:00! They did provide email instructions for how to get in, but door code jammed and we would never have gotten in without help of a neighbor who knew the owners and could call them!!! Nice accommodations and clean!

The hotel is quite conveniently located, about aa 10-minute easy walk from the station, and also within walking distance to other sights. The staff were friendly and nice in explaining things and answering our questions. We had a good stay and loved how quaint and cute our room looked. One thing though - there was no lift in the hotel, so going up and down the stairs with our luggages was a little difficult (though we managed).

Fantastic little hotel in the Cannaregio area. Positioned on the Fondamenta Cannaregio by the side of the canal. A quick 200 yard walk from the Guglie water bus stop direct from Marco Polo airport, no bridges and no turns to worry about when you have your cases. Close enough to the railway station too, about a 15 minute walk but you do have to negotiate the Guglie bridge. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful with enough of an understanding of English to make communication easy. The rooms, although small, are clean and pleasant with a nice en suite bathroom. You won't always get a view, but it's not really a worry. Continental breakfast in the small breakfast area is nice in the morning, before taking a short walk to the heart of Venice, aided by a decent map provided free by the hotel. Enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again at those prices.

Located walking distance from the train terminal and the bus station, this was a great place to stay to not have to bother with water taxis and lines for them. The hotel is on the small side, with only 14 rooms. Our bed took up most of the space in our room and there were no luggage racks. Three small shelves in the closet worked for us but had our clothing not been in ebags, not sure where we would have put our things. Our ceiling had a skylight that we could close at night with a switch on the wall. We could also open and close the shutters outside our window for day and night. Breakfast was odd. They brought out two croissants, one for each of us, and we could help ourselves to cereal and yogurt. There were some crackers on each table. Coffee and hot chocolate were offered. I got the impression they really didn't have a kitchen to prepare any food ...but didn't ask. The water taxi stop to get to the airport was just a few doors down from the hotel which was super convenient. All in all this hotel offered a great location and a clean and quiet room.

A delightful hotel that has utilized nearby apartments to expand, we stayed here three nights. Right on the Grand Canal near the Gulie water taxi stop, the main streets for shopping and restaurants were conveniently nearby without being “on top” of us. While the beds were firmer than I like, our room in the “annex” was modern, pleasantly furnished and very clean. A daily breakfast of fruits, yogurt, coffee and fresh bakery items was offered for indoor dining or at tables alongside the canal. (You can opt to include breakfast in the room rate or order separately for 7 euros which wasn’t a bad price for pricey Venice.) The owner Daniel and his staff worked hard to make our stay a pleasant one including helping me try to track down a lost piece of luggage left on the boat (FYI; there is no “Lost and Found” on Venice Water Taxis). We thoroughly enjoyed using Ca Dogressa as our home base for exploring Venice!

If you want to stay out of the commotion of St Marks then the Cannaregio is a lovely area and this hotel is situated right on the canal. It is an older property but well maintained and charming in its historic decor. However, there were a few issues that I want to share especially for the older traveler of 60+ like myself. Like many hotels of this vintage, there is no elevator and at least one steep flight of stairs to the rooms. Air conditioning is turned off in October regardless of weather forecasts. The biggest drawback for me was that there was no shower - only a big, deep tub with a hand held spray but no shower curtain. To stand and take a hand held shower soaks the floor and sitting in the tub with no rails, it is very difficult and slippery to try to climb out without assistance. Showers are important to me when I travel and had I known that most of the rooms have only tubs I would not have selected this property. The second issue was the meager breakfast. Even knowing Venetians seem to eat smaller breakfasts of just coffee and croissant, I think most travelers like a little protein and fruit. The breakfast consisted only of croissant, roll, yogurt and beverage. It was sparse and disappointing. The hotel staff are warm and helpful.

This hotel is situated away from the main tourist nonsense and has loads of great choices of bars and restaurants nearby, as well as being really handy for the airport boat and Vaporetto. The canal it’s located on is very pretty, and if you’re lucky with weather you can enjoy breakfast while sat watching life go by on it. All the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are furnished in the Venetian style and are extremely clean, with plenty of free toiletries and a payable mini bar. For us the bed was rather firm and the pillows were reminiscent of bags of blue circle cement, but that’s a personal preference. WiFi wasn’t mega fast but usable.
