We loved our stay at Corte 1321, a comfortable room with lots of thoughtful extras, a really convenient position, five minutes from the Rialto and a very pretty courtyard. The star of the organisation, however, was Vanessa who gave us the warmest of welcomes, and was always available to give advice on restaurants, routes, and the glories of Venice. She...

our stay at CORTE was fantastic. It's a great small size boutique BB, great rooms, great location, LGBTI friendly and the best thing about the place was Vanessa who greeted us! She gave us some great Venetian tips, where to eat, what to do and was a great laugh! Her best advice to experience Venice was "get lost" and eat...

Sometimes you find a hotel that actually lives up to the information provided on their website. And in this case, exceeded my expectations. Corte 1321 is a small, well managed, beautifully decorated, and perfectly located small hotel (a five minute walk from the Rialto bridge). Vanessa, the manager is not only helpful in providing her Venetian insight, but she is...

Corte 1321 is well located, hidden away in San polo, a short walk from the Rialto, good restaurants and shops nearby. But the secret of the B&B is its quality - spacious, well decorated, looking on to a small courtyard, with a delightful manager/housekeeper to keep it 'ticking'. Vanessa gave us the 'keys' to Venice with her insights, tips, and...

This is a gem hidden away in the narrow streets of Venice five minutes from the Rialto bridge and grand canal. The lady in charge is very helpful and speaks excellent English. The place is sett in a courtyard and is very quiet, clean and spacious. There are good restraunts and shops on the doorstep and it is easy to...

Stayed for 3 nights with a friend in the family suite/apartment which was really pretty, very spacious and opened out of its own separate entrance directly to the lovely courtyard. Bathroom and shower were small but that's something you'll encounter in a lot of rooms in Europe. Vanessa was great, we got lost trying to find the property and she...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
