We had a great stay at this hotel. It is greatly located, close to bars and restaurants. Specially, the lady at the counter is very friendly and make the guests feel welcome. The room is simple but it's also clean and comfortable.

Ambra at the front desk, her sister and the other staff members were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Definitely one of the best service we've come across. You can tell that the staff members there are enthusiastic about their jobs and their city, and are so eager to make your stay a lovely one. We learnt heaps about the history...

A very cozy place in the heart of Venice. It is literally steps from the famous Rialto bridge and walking distance to everything. Although it is centrally located, it is on a quiet street so you can sleep in peace at night. We had the best time roaming the streets of Venice at night and getting lost when there are...

I stayed here as a solo female traveller, and I had such a great experience. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Venice, steps from the Rialto bridge and literally walking distance to every attraction, even the train station. Ambra at the front desk was a breath of fresh air in an often rude city of locals -...

Lovely little hotel, more like a B&B than a hotel, very small but great friendly staff, the sisters are lovely, hard to tell them apart. My single room was great, small but with everything to hand, great little fridge and plenty of electrical sockets. Room and bathroom spotlessly clean and well appointed. There is no breakfast at the hotel but...

Location is awesome - steps away from the Rialto bridge and 5-10 minutes from pretty much everything else. Lots of shopping nearby. We had a standard double room with private bathroom. The room was small but it worked for us! The bed was more comfortable than we thought it'd be. Towels were more like sheets but they did the job....

This hotel has minimal services but provides good value in an expensive city, and is conveniently located close to the Rialto bridge and not far from San Marco. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful with local information. They gave us the names of less touristy restaurants that provided real local cuisine at good prices. Our room was of a...

Not the usual hotel experience, since we opted to stay in the Annex which was separate from the main hotel. It's located in another building, and is more like an apartment stay. We booked the double room with ensuite bathroom and were quite happy. We weren't sure if there was anyone else staying with us in the Annex, so a...

I had a very small single room. It wasn't fancy but there's nothing to complain about. The hosts were very nice. The room was clean... and above all, it was one of the best bargains in Venice. The only small negative was how hard the bed was, but I've found this to be pretty standard across Italy.

I stayed in a single room, in the hotel's 'annex' which is about 3mins walk from the main hotel building, on the next street. The room and the hotel itself is quite possibly the cleanest I've ever come across whilst travelling. Bathroom was meant to be shared with another single room, but the room was not occupied in those few...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
