I cannot recommend this beautiful hotel highly enough, great central location. Staff are so helpful and knowledgable, we stayed in the Vitturi Suite as it was our honeymoon and this is the best room that we have ever stayed in and we have stayed at...More
Such an enchanting place to stay in Venice! I highly recommend it! The palazzio is situated between San Marco and Rialto. Therefore, it is perfectly situated. The people who work there are so nice. If you really want your trip to Venice to be unforgettable...More
As with all hotels in central Venice, rooms here are expensive but not as dear as others! The room was beautiful with lovely high ceilings. The bed was comfortable and bathroom clean with modern appliances. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we were...More
Stayed for 2 nights from 11th July. Great hotel in an even better location. Away from the madness and tourists but close enough to get to anywhere in 5 minutes. Kids loved the balcony on 1st floor looking out over the square. Would return.
Great location on a major square with good bars and restaurants nearby, all major attractions within 5 mins walk. Great staff willing to help in every way. Big clean modern rooms with real character, we were in side rooms and whilst there were no particular...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

You will definitely want to take a water taxi. Walking would be unthinkable with luggage. We stayed at the hotel after a cruise as well. It should be about 70-90 Euros, but well worth it as the drop off will be right next to the hotel - the driver will know, and you will get a short canal tour!
