Convenient location in Venice, very close to Ospedale water terminal. Close to supermarket. Staff was helpful and friendly when I was asking for directions. I love their coffee during breakfast. The room is clean and spacious.

Room and toilet were clean and spacious. It's about a 20 minute walk to St Mark's Square. Great little eateries and shops on the walk to the square so location wise it's very good. Also, it's very close (about 5 minutes) to the Ospedale vaporetti stop making it very easy if you have luggage. There is a coop (super market)...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! We are really happy that you enjoyed our property and appreciated our location. Unfortunately Venice is a really ancient city and all buildings are close to each other, which makes having an elevator almost impossibile. Our breakfast consists of: rolls, jam, cheese, butter, Nutella, plum cakes, yogurt,...

For those wanting to stay in the island of Venice and do not want to drag your carry-on across the island over a bunch of bridges this is the perfect place. We drove into Venice and rather than parking near the train station, we simply parked in the airport and took the vaporetto into the island. The hotel was just...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Unfortunately Venice is made by islands that are connected with bridges and we are lucky that we don't even have one bridge to cross to arrive to the hotel from the public transport stop. Venice is a really ancient city, the buildings are all next to each...

I loved the location— in the Castello. Mostly real people walking around. Loved being on other side of Venice from St. Mark's square. And square is just a 15 minute walk away. Great places to eat, fascinating streets. The people at the hotel were very friendly and very helpful. Not fancy but quite nice. Very easy to take the Alleguna...

We weren't expecting much given it's star rating, but could not have been more surprised and relieved when we checked in. Assigned a double room, room 6, which held two kingsized beds, a small table with two chairs, a wardrobe, and two bedside tables. What we weren't expecting was the small bar fridge and the kettle to improve our level...

Have stayed here 3 times and it has been consistently a good B&B. The rooms and baths are large with good linens, the bed is comfortable and it is very clean. Fausto and staff are helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is not huge but gets one started - hot coffee, juice, yogurt, warm rolls and a brioche. Coming from the airport,...

Although the location is itself not scenic, down a lane, the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from a waterbus stop and within easy walking distance of many attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, wi fi worked well and Fausto was very friendly and helpful. The room also had a safe. Excellent value for this city.

It is a mere 10 minute walk to Piazza San Marco which is a great plus. The room itself was very simple, almost sparse, and the breakfast was lacking. After the first morning we chose to have breakfast elsewhere. The cost was excellent so I guess you get what you pay for😉

We stayed a week so we got a free night. Very nice people, clean & comfortable room with minifridge. Our room 7 was very quiet (did not face the street). Located just steps from Ospedale vaporetto stop. About a 15 minute walk from St Marks or Rialto. (We invested in a good map, although there are often signs pointing you...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
