I have enjoyed staying in this room since its both very comfortable and antic style at the same time. Love the color of the walls and authentic decoration. The outside was cold because of the season but the heater Works well. bathroom, kitchen and other facilities was also good (kitchen and living room is shared). the room size is quite...

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel for our wedding anniversary (double room, shared bathroom) and we did not enjoy the hotel very much. The service was minimum: there was no soap or shampoo in the common bathroom. I have demanded shampoo twice and they told me they would provide some but they never did. Due to some recent law,...

This was our first visit to Venice, Italy and it took us awhile to find the hotel, but once we did we had a really lovely stay at the Al Pozzo B & B. The hotel has lots of artsy Italian charm and is centrally located in a vibrant section of Venice close to shopping and endless dining options. Our...

We were buzzed into the building and given keys and directions to our room by someone on her way out for the day. That was the only face time with the staff we had by the second morning of our stay. With breakfast served at 9AM, most active travelers would already be out and about seeing the plethora of sights...

This is a very nice place to stay in Venice. We were two couples, staying in two bedrooms, sharing a bath. The rooms were quite nice, and the bathroom was large and accommodating. The location is excellent. Flo and " Mr. Flo" were charming hostess and host preparing a lovely breakfast on the inviting porch. It is just one flight...

We spent two nights with 2 children (aged 9 and 12) mid-July. Not only Florence, the owner, is really nice and welcoming but also helped us optimized our short stay in Venice: recommendations about the best charming places to eat in order to feel like locals, where to go (and not to) and lots of explanation about the city. We...

Our stay in Florence and Hugues B&B was absolutely excellent ! Our hosts are very kind and full of good advices to visit Venice : they know the right venitian shops, they know the restaurants with true venitian food and all the tricks to spend 4 days discovering the marvels of the town without being standard tourists. We had mixed feelings about our stay. There is nothing wrong with the B&B – the rooms are nice and clean, the location is good, and the high priced Venice the value is fine. The owners are indifferent to their guests. The service was basically here are your keys, this is the bill. The other places we stayed at in...

We saw the photo, and we communicated with the owner ( who is very nice) however, when we got there, it wasn't what we were expecting. The room we got was good size wise, bathroom clean, but the bath tub , or should I say half tub was rather uncomfortable for a shower. The double bed (the one in the...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Let’s choose a nice large bedroom in Residenza Al Pozzo, with private bathroom and you will have a really venetian experience, first of all with the sophisticated decoration of rooms: Murano chandeliers, ear tints and marble floor, then by the ideal location, the square Campo San Polo is at the heart of the city in a very alive district, 2 steps of the Rialto market . You will find the beautiful fruits and local vegetables and you will see the special fish market with even seafoods of the venetian Lagoon… The same neighborhoods of the Rialto market becomes in the evening a meeting place for all those who wish to drink a “spritz” (local light cocktail and to taste some “cicchetti” (venetian tapas) as the local tradition. But nearby there are also bakeries, one of the best traditional cake stores of Venice and of course amazing ice creams. This way you will enjoy the common spaces provided in the Residenza: the kitchen, the small terrace and the living room to organize according to your wishes your breakfast or your aperitif, or to have dinner … After the attractive Venetian walks you will have a nice rest in your so quiet bedroom, warm in winter and at the cool in summer thanks to the present air-conditioning in all our bedrooms. You can immediately send your beautiful pictures of Venice to your closer friends thanks to the internet connection available (fast fiber free of charge in all the bedrooms and the common spaces). A look through the window and, beyond the venetian classic curtains, you will imagine the family of the XVIIIth century which lived in this palazzo and which used the system of pulley by the balcony to stock up with water drawn from the Well (POZZO) of the small courtyard, the very former “Pozzo”! My family is venetian and I will be really happy to make you discover Venice! We will give you our special list with our favourite venitian wine bar and restaurants, this way you will test all the venetian specialites. : ) How to reach us: We are in the historic center. Residenza Al Pozzo is located in the heart of Venice, near the famous Rialto bridge, in the charming San Polo Square only 15 minutes walk away from the Train Station (San Lucia) and Piazzale Roma (Car Terminal). City waterbus (Vaporetto) n° 1 direction Rialto or San Marco. The closest stop is San Silvestro, 60 meters away.
