After finding the place that is well hidden in the Venetian maze (do accept the pick-up:)) we spent four quiet nights. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very clean and Esmeralda and Mario are helpful both with tipps on how to spend your day and how to get to places and can provide you also with historical background. Recommended!

It's 5-minute walk from Rialto bridge and lots of other shops. It's very clean. Above all, the couple are wonderful and helpful hosts. They told me everything about Venice and gave me lots of suggestions.

Esmeralda and Mario are very welcoming and will make you feel right at home. The location is great, on a quiet street but a quick walk to the heart of the city. They have plenty of recommendations for restaurants and will help you navigate Venice and find your way around.

This location is the best for a family of 4. Although Mario said something about a small breakfast, we had an incredible huge breakfast. Esmeralda answered all our questions and gave us hints and tips where to eat and where to go. We had our own private bathroom and enough space for the whole family. We will come back, for...

A perfect place fitting the budget. Mario makes amazing breakfast. It is in center of Venice, so all the sights are within waking distance. However, I recommend taking the ferry pass as it is cheaper and better then paying for each boat ride individually.

We enjoyed our stay here tremendously. Quiet at night, comfy beds, clean - what more could you ask for? Great wifi too, if you can't survive without it! Mario and Esmeralda were charming hosts, very welcoming. Met us off the ferry and gave us lots of advice - excellent restaurant recommendations and accommodation itself well positioned for exploring Venice.

Charming room with wonderful owners. They provided advice to us and the other guests on what to see and do, as well as how to get around. Wifi worked great. We had a shared bathroom, which normally I don't like, but it wasn't an issue here. Breakfast is simple, with croissants and tea, which suited us fine.

Great Base for seeing the sights . The host was brilliant meeting us off the water taxi and guiding us back to it on our departure . Nothing was too much trouble for him and his local knowledge was invaluable . The room was comfortable and adequate as you don't spend much time in it anyway but more than met...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our Bed & Breakfast finds itself in the center of Venice, 5 minutes walking from the famous Rialto bridge, and 15 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco. We are close to the main fish market place where there is a public transport gondola service which enables everyone to cross the Grand Canal for 2 euros per person. Our home is located in one of the oldest areas of Venice, where most houses are from the 13th century. Indeed Venetians used to leave originally in Torcello island, and then decided from the 8th century to move from the island of Torcello, more exposed to the Barbars invasions, to settle in the current Rialto area. Esmeralda and Mario, the owners who personally attend all guests during check-in, check-out and breakfast time, will answer all your questions and help you take most advantage of your stay in Venice. ... more   less
