The room, location, breakfast, etc. were all as expected. This B&B is located in Costello, about a 10 minute walk from St. Mark's Square. The area is safe and quiet with a variety of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast each day was very nice with a variety of baked goods, fruit, eggs cooked to order, and fantastic espresso. We had a...

This is a small B&B with beautiful rooms and wonderful host. We were 2 families with kids and booked 2 Canal view rooms. The host, Floriana and Marcus were wonderful and helped us like family. Marcus came to receive us on the water bus stand which was overwhelming. Breakfast was fresh and awesome.

After lots of research we decided on the B&B Ca' Furlan in Castello. The accommodations are a gem in a worthy Venetian setting along with their rich decor that instantly puts at ease with a sense of home. The historical feel of the property adds to its charm. It's located centrally to all tourist attractions such as Piazza San Marco,...

Thanks for your review, it will help us to always improve our service. We're sorry for the toiletries' mixup, it was probably an error of our cleaning lady, anyway if you would have asked for it we would have delivered it to your room. Thank you again, hope to see you in the future. Floriana

We loved our stay in Ca' Furlan and will definitely be back! The staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was beautiful, overlooking the canals of Venice, we couldn't ask for anything more! It was a wonderful start to our trip in Italy and one we will certainly remember forever.

Great place to stay a short walk from San Marco Square but away from the touristy areas. One of the hosts, Marco, was especially helpful in providing us recommendations for restaurants, preparing an excellent homemade breakfast each morning, and letting us leave our luggage for a short while after checking out. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Located slightly off the beaten path in the Castello district, this 6 room B & B is clean and very private. We had a room overlooking the canal, and it was very quiet. The rooms a small, but well furnished and the breakfast is first rate. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We chose the Ca' Furlan because of the positive reviews, the fact that breakfast was included and the location - we were not disappointed. We arrived in Venice via the airport shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma then the water bus round to San Zaccaria. Following the map we easily found Ca' Furlan (a ten minutes walk) greeted by the lovely...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
