Well located apartment, spacious and airy - perfect for a short break in Venice. Arsenale water bus stop only two minutes away and St Mark's Square a short stroll further on. Very good value for money.

This review is long overdue, so I apologize. It was out second stay at Gli Angeli. My husband and I stayed at this place 5 years ago, and we loved it. Location is great. Although it is on the opposite end of the Grand Canal, but it is right off Arsenale stop. It is very easy to find, and it...

My husband and I recently stayed here. I must say Ms. Sonia was a very warm and hospitable host. She was very welcoming after our long journey and had lots of advice to add to improve our stay in Venice. IT was very peaceful away from the hustle of the city and we felt very safe and at home. Sonia is an amazing host running the best B&B in the Arsenale. She is able to take you anywhere you want or give you directions so you can do it on your own. We have been coming for 12 years and always been pleased. We stay from two to six weeks each time. She speaks fluent English which is great...

Recently stayed with Sonia for 3 days. She was the perfect host, promptly and patiently replies to all your queries. At first I thought I needed to stay inside the city center, but realized it wasnt a good idea. This bnb is the perfect location for anyone who wishes to travel to Venice. A two minute walk to the water...

It was our fourth trip to Venice, and this B&B was best by far. The location is awesome, the whole house is clean, if you get the Gold Room you have exclusive access to the backyard, where you can sip a lemonade or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. If we ever go back to Venice, this is...

We stayed at this adorable B&B for a night just a few weeks ago. It was cozy, comfortable and came with more than we needed. The room is equipped with a microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee machine and even has a great little breakfast table set up. Location was easy to get to as long as you take the 4.2 water...

We recently stayed at this delightful b&b in Venice. The location is amazing, a short walk from the vaparetto stop and also from St Mark's Square. Sonia was very helpful and leading up to our visit answered our emails promptly. The direction to find the b&b were spot on. There is one flight of stairs to climb. The room was...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
